Towing with CRV 2006

Anybody towing a Jayco campertrailer (approx. 1100kg) with their 2.4l CRV? Need advice as to whether it can be done; handbook states that braked tow weight can be up to 1200kg. for auto. Thanks B.

I have a 04 with a Trailboss bar which is rated at 1500kg with a downball of 50kg.
The difference between your 06 and mine is bigger brakes and a 5th gear so you'll be fine, not that i'd tow 1500kg though!

I'd say you'd be safe with 1100kg as long as your downball weight is as low as possible. Yes its heavy based on the cars maximum and i would say this could be due to Honda being a little precautious based on their previous Auto issues.
The Rav weighs roughly the same weight and its braked capacity is 1500kg. So if you're going to be towing 1100kg for any distance, get your Auto fully flushed as if it was a major service and it wouldn't hurt to do the diffs also. Just a safe guard really.
