Been looking for a clean stock low klm crx siR and not having much luck at all.
They are all old looking and seem thrashed and not taken care of.
have you guys ever even seen a good one here in oz?

Yeah, mine is good. I bought it 3 years ago for $8,500 and 96,000 genuine kms. Only had a pod filter, 5zigen muffler, rs*r short shifter and two sets of rims.
Now it has 102,000kms and a few more mods :)

They are still around, BUT, as they're now 20 yrs old, they ARE old and the people who have got the good ones most likely don't intend to sell until they or the car dies (whichever comes first), so you'll probably have a long wait, then you also may get lucky and one could come up tomorrow or next week. Or you'll have to bite the bullet and be prepared to fix one up.

I used to have a crx with a b16a and i miss it so bad.
Was so loud and sounded amazing!
it could easily stay with a wrx which i couldnt beleive for a 1.6 litre engine.
Just love the look of crx and combine with the vtec it is amazing.
Plus so cheap on fuel too which is great these days.
and you dont have to drive everyone around because it is a 2 seater.

I just had to bite the bullet and get my EF8 resprayed as its exterior had gotten to that point. I guess after nearly 23 years that isn't to bad though! I think I'll hold onto it for a bit longer now too :)

I'd love to have one too, they are the pinnacle of the Gen2's, no doubt about it, they have the performance and the luxury refinements for a great GT (Grand Tourer but with the nimbleness of a sports car). In my experience with all sorts of cars, I believe they are at a point in their history that is common to most of this type. At 20 years their values have dropped about as far as they will go and they plateau, until about 25 yrs when (and this may have something to do with the fact they move into the club rego and special interest area) their values begin to rise (also because of the attrition rate). So as a long term investment, you still have the chance to enjoy their use now frequently and anything spent on them is not going into a bottomless pit.
You don't know how I wish I'd hung on to my Charger that I sold in 98 for $1825 which now you could probably tack a 0 on the end.

Hi Hondapop
That is also something which i was thinking.
I know that quality crx in general is very hard to find and if you do find a good one, it is holding its value very well and easier to sell.
I have found a crx that is perfect but is an australian deliverd model which does not have that extra added power and style.
I really prefer the Sir but not sure that i will find one with under 100,000 klm.
I dont even think that they can be imported anymore.
So it will be even harder.

Are you also on crxaustralia.com ? Not saying you will find one there soon either but you need to cover as many forums as possible, and all the sales sites as well.

I think you'll never see another with a genuine 100,000 or less. I was kinda upset when mine ticked over lol.
Honestly you might have to buy an average one for $6,000-8,000 and just fix up the body, check/re-build the engine, change the bushes etc.
Will drive like a new car and then you have piece of mind mate.
I test drove an ED9 and liked it, but then I met my now best friend who took me for a spin in his EF8 and there was just no other option mate.
Even a B16A convert is very nice but if it were me shopping again I'd honestly pay whatever is necessary to get that genuine EF8. Even an EF9?

Hi Honda Pop
yes i have been a member on there for years and have owned 2 b16a converted crxs in the past but they were bought already done up and i didnt really like what was done to them.
I will keep an eye out.
I see a couple on Carsales but they seem very thrashed and beaten up.
Might wait for something better to pop up.
There is a perfect crx on carsales original and all that looks really good.
But not a vtec dam it.
I guess if i keep looking around that i will find something eventually.
Can we not import an SiR anymore?

No you can't unless it's for parts only (not road legal) or you've owned it in Japan or wherever for 12months or more.
Importing is an expensive process also, plus the vehicle is unsighted or tested.
This law is in place to protect the domestic market from overseas competition where there is a similar vehicle available locally. So because we have the ED9 you can't import the EF8. However if we never received the CRX at all it might have been alright.
Seriously, but one and just fix it. Make it your own gem. They're a dying breed.
Meant to be thrashed anyway...

Well I was considering selling mine but not anymore. Its a shame they cannot be imported either. I'm sure they would go for a reasonable price in Japan. The only other car Honda have I think will be in the same category as the EF8 will be the DC2r. Might not be a bad option to look into getting one of them in good condition now.
Keep looking for the EF8 though, someone will eventually sell but I think you will have to be prepared to spend some money on it but it will be money well spent I think.

Agree with what everyone else has said, there just aren't that many around and a lot are pretty beat. The good ones don't change hands that often. Just get a beat one and clean it up, that is what I am doing. Although some might not like what I am going to do to it :).

CR-X's should be considered a labour of love like any older car.
Buy one in the best condition you can find and fix it as much as you can as it's a 20 yr old car... Shouldn't expect em to all be like showroom new... ..
and don't do what I did and buy an old shitbox.
Anyone got a crx siR or a JDM eg 6 seat for sale? probs not?
