Hi folks,

Got a bit of a rattle that has appeared in my vti.

Turning or driving at low speeds (0-20km/h) in 1st/2nd (yet to try 3rd) will generally result in a rotational rattling sound. (Similar to when we used to stick cards in our push bike spokes although at a slower frequency). NB. Depressing the clutch results in the sound disappearing.

The problem will also occur occasionally idling in neutral.

Now I've done a bit of poking around on the internet and it seems that it could possibly either be a input/main/throwout bearing, but I am not as of yet entirely sure.

My car is now at 160,000km and has yet to have any form of gearbox overhaul so it could be explained that the part is just worn out etc.

My question is, has anyone here experienced a similar problem? If so what was the cause/etc.

Thanks!

if you can see an oil leak you need to replace it,

Hey buddy, thanks for the reply. It's not that engine mount however. I've popped and replaced that same mount a whole ago and the rattling is completely different. There are no extreme vibrations. Although I'll have a look at the other mounts this weekend now that you have mentioned that
