what does everything think the right exhaust size would be for an f20b?

2.5 inch or 2.75 inch.

2.36" actually, commonly referred to simply as 2.5".

But hang on, are we talking about the DOHC VTEC from the Accord (H22A head, 150~kw +/-) or the SOHC VTEC (110~kw +/-).

If DOHC, I'd consider 2.75" or 3".

If SOHC go the 60mm/2.5"

Is your car N/A still? If so, 2.75" - if F/I 3"

This all depends on the rest of your system, cat and the intended use of your car...

Going beyond 2.5" won't really free up any more power on a Motor like that.. It's up to you though, there's no downsides.
As Senna said, it depends on the rest of your setup.

+1 2.5" for N/A. 2.75" / 3.0" for FI, GENERALLY speaking

Stock cat? Just go 2.5-2.75" Thats all you'll need unless you are planning on going F/I in the near future

I'd stick to 2.75 at the most man - its still only 2L displacement after all, no need to go overboard - its only gonna be louder and the drivability will start to suffer.

Personally I would call 2.75 oversized on anything smaller than a 2.2L I would go 2.25 or 2.5 at most for a n/a less than 2.2L. The larger exhaust will only cause the throttle response to suffer, it's better to have a little bit smaller exhaust that flows faster, then the other way round.

I would agree, but it seems the OP has the choice of 2.75 or 3", so the 2.75 is the lesser of the two evils as it were...

I got the choice of either 2.5" - 3" but don't know what's best thats all

Don't want 2.5" to be too small

2.5 as the price of 2.75 would be a big difference in price because of the size of pipe
you should be worring about your exhaust manifold and cat

Good choice.

It's not all about the diameter on the exhaust it's all about how quickly it get it out of the system. Sure bigger exhaust makes more noise, but you look like a d*ck making 100+db of noise and going nowhere.

That was just a number I pulled out of the top of my head. Obviously it isn't big enough.....far too loud for me tho, or I could just turn my hearing aid down lol

It'll give you the sh!ts lol. Probably cause headaches if the resonance is bad, and if it drones too loudly on the freeway you'll wanna kill something.
