hey guys. just got a quick question about fuel filters. will a fuel filter off an eg be compatible with an ek? reason i ask is because the eg fuel filter has both inlet and outlet pip on the top while ek fuel filter has one on top and the other at the bottom. basically they are different design. both are d series.

any information is appreciated :)

According to rycofilters.com.au they are different, although it doesn't list d16y1 in case the eg has the sohc VTEC motor...

It says d16y4/5 are different to d16a/d15 etc.
So if you are going to stick to oem recommendation (which in my experience is best) then they are different...

just buy the EK to suit EK and EG vice versa..

so all banjo/AN fittings will fit accordingly without any issues.

Fuel filters cheap under $20.

$20 for me if you buy the "package" service deals.. hhehe and if they are having the sales too... (most of the time) and i know ppls :p

Package deals:
Oil, Oil filter, Spark plugs, Fuel filter = about $110 depending on the oil you use.
:)

but yes if on its own ..then around $20-40 depends on where and if you know people too.

I use Ryco oil filter but oem Honda fuel filter... Just looks better and it'll be on the car for longer than oil filter so I would use genuine oem Honda...

Buy it from jdmyard or jdmconcept though cause they'll be cheaper than honda

Depends on how often you plan to do oil changes.

If every 5-8k intervals then i would suggest ryco..

But if u plan to change at 8-12k intervals, then go honda oem.

Only reason why ur better off using ryco or similar is because its a cheaper option for regular intervals.

Whereas honda oem will cost more than aftermarket..

Get my drift..

But in this case we are talking about fuel filter.

Normally youd change these every 20-30k kms
