another bad idle thread.

headgasket leaking compression. engine was rebuilt. honed, decked, head done, new pistons/rings/bearings/seals/gaskets, arp headstuds etc.

had a really bad idle to start with and no vac. had a valve not lapped in properly. fixed that, idling better, no stalling now. but still crazy erratic idle, pops rich at idle.

done the search thing. cleaned iscv. cleaned ficv. calibrated tps. swapped tps. swapped map sensor. swapped pretty well all the sensors/valves/ throttlebody/vac lines over. everything hanging of the intake manifold.

any suggestions?

- timing
- try another ECU (is the head the same spec?)
- positive you got no vacuum leak?

do a compression test to ensure all is OK

are you running differrent parts in this rebuild?

has the compression been raised?

if it is differrent, or has higher comp, has it been tuned?

if not, it's not surprising as the characteristics of the engine have been changed but the tuning is still the same.
