So I'm trying to find the code for the d15b7 5speed gearbox.. Cause I want to know if it'll fit in my first gen.

tossing up ideas to do with it.. Got the db15b7 sitting at home... thought I might be able to drop the geabox into the first gen semi easily.. but I dunno. I know you can fit the second gen gearboxes in there pretty easily, but I don't think it'll be easy to find...

But yeah, Lots of ideas, trying to find a cost effective method. Can get another 4speed for the first gen since the syncros in my 4speed are pretty buggered (mainly second, grinds a fair bit) but yeah.

So, anybody know if it'll fit with minimal work? My idea for doing the gearbox swap instead of the whole engine was so it wouldn't need as much work (y'know, only gearbox mount, probably custom hole in the floor and maybe cv's in theory.. as apposed to engine mounts, fuel system, ecu wiring, etc etc..

Any knowledge would be nice. cheers

Gli was P20/a000 Vti - P20/ B000. Gli has longer ratios and Vti has shorter, both boxes are identical in mounting and looks. got a A000 sitting here if you want only used for about 100xxx and is perfect

Nah, it's good man, I have a a000 at home with 160,xxx on it.. thanks anyway

Still not sure if the a000 will fit into the first gen... should probably have a look for the first gen ec 4speed gearbox, see if anybody has done the conversion

Wikipedia is no help.. Thinks the engine is an ed.. and that the EC is a hybrid engine from 1992 or something. random..

Just a quick bump.. Anybody know if a p20/a000 would fit onto an ec motor in a 77 civic? without many issues?
Tried googling, but no bingo :(
Might ask some of the local car places, see what they think
