Hi guys,

Today i serviced my car. Its a 1995 Honda Integra VTIR. According to the manual, you gotta fill it up to 4L of oil...so that's what i did...now when i check the dipstick, its about 1.5cm above the MAX line on the dipstick...how can that be? i've obviously fully drained the old oil...i measured exactly 4L and its gone way over...could this be because my dipstick is not the original one and the previous owner must have replaced with a dipstick for another honda?

dont drive your car over filled with oil.

compare your dipstick to another VTiR
maybe mesure your dipstick and someone else with a VtiR can confirm its length. but I doubt your dipstick has been changed. also did you change the oil filetr

yep i changed everything...new oil filter and filled it with Mobil 1 Synthetic.

I measured exactly 4L that i put in so it shouldn't have gone over the MAX line...but it did so that's why i reckon the dipstick is not the right one for it.

i never listen to manuals really, i just fill it up little by little n keep checking the oil level until its just right.

My dad, an old service manager for honda says that it should take nemore than 4L, and that probably would be overfilling it, so i dont think ur dipstick is different.

My suggestion is drain the oil completely, and do it again

did you start the engine 1st to allow the oil filter to fill up before you checked the oil ?
