for b16, definitely go for the 4-2-1 as u need the torque for daily driving

make sure u'd get d 4-2-1 1piece coz 4-2-1 2piece is useless....

okay well its seem i will be going for the 4-2-1 setup, cause i am after a gain in the mid range...
once i install the headers, exhaust and muffler... what would the noise factor be like, im really not a big fan of loud exhaust sound, i rather my vtec do all the barking!

4-2-1
noise will be fine as long as you get a sane muffler and not some 9" cannon

4-2-1 for low-mid range torque. 4-1 for top-end.
4-1 sound awesome on the EK4, i've been in RAYTDR's car a few times since he had the headers installed and it pulls nice after 120km/h. ;) But it is also good for daily driving. And they sound great!
But yeah, as every one else said, if yours is mainly a daily driver the 4-2-1 setup would be better. If you want to do track work, go 4-1 straight away.

having owning a b16 before and now a b18 and what I can say about the b16 is that u really need to rev it up to make some decent power. it is almost torqueless below 4k and u dont want to use a 4-1 to shift the power band to upper rpm.
and for "4-2-1 for low-mid range torque. 4-1 for top-end." that might be true in theory but there are dyno charts that shows 4-2-1 out perform 4-1 in the whole rev range.
I wonder if there is any jap aftermarket brand that makes 4-1 for b16? all the 4-1 I have seen are for b18. anyone can confirm this?
