Speedo not working

Did a search and couldn't find anything. I bought a cluster for my EG and the speedo doesn't work properly. It will show a reading but it's no where near accurate. If I hit it a little bit then it will work but after 10 seconds it will go crazy again. The old cluster I had was fine. Anyone go any ideas how to DIY fix it?

sounds like the calibration on the speedo is stuffed.

Have u tried swapping around the speedo assembly from the old cluster to the new?

i dont think it will be your VSS as it seems like its working - you just tap the dash to trigger the speedo to work.

Most likely a faulty Speedo assembly.

Swap it around or get your money back/change cluster.

I'll try change the speedo assemy from the old one and see if that fixes the problem.
