my first service was free... after that it's every 5000km. This is how my dealer works; they do a minor service every 5000km and a major every 10000km. So 5000km it's about $120 (took ~2 hours), then at 10000km they do a more thorough check on everything (took about 3-4 hours) and cost $220. Then repeats again @ 15000 then 20000km etc...

Is this the usual service cost and what is the cost for extended warranty ?

my first service wasnt free.....they said it was free for the labour.....not for the actual oils and shit they changed (which they did on their own.....i didnt request it)......anyone else get charged for their first euro service? i paid aobut 50 bucks...

I think everyone gets charged for their first service. $50 bucks is about right.

but a service every 5000ks is a bit extreme. I would stuff what the dealer says and go by the handbook.

what is the cost for extended warranty
I think the 5 yr extended warranty is around $700 something dollars. could be more if you buy it after car delivery. It also includes 5 yrs road side assistance.
I got mine when I signed my car, the dealer gave me some discount on that. I think I paid around $500 for that. the reason I invested in this is because I heard Honda's parts are very expansive.

Minor service every 5000KM??? Man...... Your dealer probably think you are a millionare have too much money but dont know where to spend.. :p
In my opinion, with today's car technology, service every 10000 km is more than enough. VW golf only need service very 15000 km :star: . having said that, I guess it also depends on your driving style and milage you do. eg. If you are a hardcore driver, take your Euro to race track every weekend OR Only done 5000KM /year,,,, then you definity need Lub change every 5000km.

I have to pay for my 1000KM service too, which I think is rediculars. :thumbdwn: Most of car makes offer free 1st 1000km service. Lexus 's 1000km AND 10000km
are both free.

as if you'd service it every 5000km!
That's the most ridiculous thing ever.
The dealer's just trying to milk money out of you.
Ignore them and just follow what the service book states.
I paid something like 30 bucks for my 1000km service. 50 bucks sounds like a rip off.

i got to say every 5000km will not harm the car but it is unnecessary...and yes 50 bucks is a ripoff i paid $36
