My New DC2 =]

Hey guys i recently bought my first integra. Its a 1998 honda integra vti-r with the jdm front. one of the cleanest ones i could find to buy in my price range and was a exellent buy! Its stock as a rock but i have some plans for this baby. Only things that has on it are:
15" black p1 buddyclub rims
full carbon type r interior including cluster gear knob and boot
Magnaflow exhaust (just the right sound)
the usual fully sick sound system double din clarion dvd player with pioneer tweets and speakers with a sony explode amp with 15" jbl sub
Post some reply of what you think and what i can do for the future.It will be a big help for anything as im new to this, Cheers and hopefully i could meet some of yous some time soon and go for a few cruises!

Nice looking car mate, love the JDM front (so nice to see it in something other than Championship White) and ITR rear wing. Finish the full exhaust! Header + high-flow cat. Fun times ahead :)

Also looks quite low. What suspension setup?

looking for so long for a dc2 but couldnt afford an itr so this is the next best thing! bought it off gumtree

The previous owner said that its all stock suspension, but i wouldnt have a clue! the rides feels pretty good though and i reckon they just put new springs in or something The car was almost liek an itr but with the luxury with the sunroof :P and i just recently bought some recaros for it !

I have a shark attack 2 antenna on my DC2R. Only cost me $50 and looks identical to the S2k antenna. Easy to install and looks awesome, great fitment! here is a pic:

Just bought some new seats for this baby!

took out the original vtir seats

it didnt take me too long to install them but the passenger seat is hard to move back and forward and will later on look into it more but for now its all fun and games! :D

Sweet as ride man , makes me want to do a conversion on my teg. Just a heads up noticed you have a CAI installed and have no mud guards protecting you filter from water . From all this rain we getting in sydney might want to avoid puddles of water.

Cheers man, really? thats good :) yeahh man this car is goin to be mine for awhile so i got lil dreams for this one, first just start of with the exterior fix allthe little scratches n dents make sure it looks all pretty. Thinking of gettin the mugen rear wing still not sure though!
Then might get some rear type r seats as the car has almost all the type r interior.
Looking to finish the exhaust system, Not sure about the headers yet but high flow cat back system.
Then save heeeeeeeaps of money and thinking of dropping b18cr just to finish it off :)
And not going to lie when i get my fulls (hopefully when everything is done) im thinking of turboing it! hehe

If thats the case ,dont waste your money on dropping in a B18CR engine if you plan on turboing it. The VTiR engine would be more than enough that the gains wouldnt be noticeable. The lower compression of the VTIR motor will allow you to run more boost later on too. VTiR is a good base to turbo, if it has high kms rebuild with lower comp pistons and it well be well suited for boost. Good luck!

Yesturday, i got my car serviced, fresh fliuds etc runs smoother found out some things and little problems. It is currently on kmac springs (orange colour) on stock shocks. Has a little bit of camber wear. need to change brake pads as i only got like 3 mm left on the rears. Its almost on the 200,000 kms mark so i have to do the big service which is the timing belt, water pump, seals and bearings (costly :( ) other then that im quite happy as its doing its job so i gave her a good wash aswell!

Depends on the Km and how it has been driven/looked after in the past i guess. <100 000km id say no more than once, anything else after that maybe twice. Anymore than that you would need to do a leakdown and compression test to work out where the oil is going, 2 main culprits are valve stem seals and piston rings. Although high km VTEC motors are known to burn due to the high RPMs.

this is true, if oil is dissapearing at an abnormal rate then it has to be going somewhere. one culprit that is very common on b series but not very well known is valve guides.

do bare in mind, the b series engines will always chew through a bit if they are driven hard regularly (e.g. 6000RPM and up on hard throttle) due to not having the greatest breather setups. it all makes sense when you think about the kind of crankcase pressure that is built up at 8000RPM!

just depends how much man. if it's dropping like 500ml every time you go for a hard drive then it's something to look into.

but if it's only adding a few ml every 2 weeks or so it's nothing to worry about.

just make sure you are using the appropriate oil for the engines condition and you should be ok.

Sweet as, yeah i think it only burns oil when i hit vtec around 5000, the mechanic looked into it and theres no leak so its either burning or the previous owner didnt fill it enough
