Euro77, Pekay and I were at the Dyno day yesterday in Vic. The guys at Beninca Automotive were great! Very friendly. Nice to meet other Euro owners too!

My best run was 120.1kw (for consistency every car was tested in 3rd gear - I asked to sneak one run in at 4th gear - got 111.8kw - note Euro has a different map for 4th gear as the fuel/air ratio was totally different).

Euro77 got 101.1kw

Pekay got 115.1.

Not sure why Euro77s is running low - did you get another run at it? We have similar kms (around 20,000km) on the clock. I have lighter rims but that doesn't equal 19kw on the same dyno.

Pekay's number is really good as he only has 4000km on the clock - the mods definately look promising - icebox, filter, hiclone. Did you get to separate the hiclone on any run? I want that icebox now!

There was a Celica ZR on the dyno with the 140kw engine - he had heaps of mods - AEM intake, Power FC ECU, header, zorst - he got a best of 117kw - a VT commodore which is rated at the engine with 147kw - 107kw at the wheels --- so it sounds like Honda underrate the K24 engine or it doesn't have as much power loss to the wheels. Go honda ! :D

Fun day.

Only had time to do the one run.... So no results without the Hiclone. Do the panel filter first....

Kenny

It was silver - the owner is a really nice bloke. He has got better dyno figures before - 123kw with a dynodynamics dyno (3rd gear). He has also run a 14 sec flat 1/4 at Calder. Not bad eh?

Hey Faiz -if you want more power go for a cold air intake - eg Injen or k&n. Or if you want to retain stock look and sound with a small gain - go the Comptech Icebox.

Will installing those mods affect warranty in anyway?

Yes - but it depends on the problem and whether the intake mod contributed. It is a risk you take when modifying your car.

It is weird though - in the USA Honda expressly guarantee factory warranty if various Comptech parts are fitted by a dealer (intake, sway, headers, etc). I have not seen anything similar in Australia. Honda must have some arrangement with Comptech in the USA.

I see. Thanks for the info.

Looks like i will have to wait till my car ages a bit before i consider these mods.

Didn't get another run. Not sure what makes the difference though, could be the way the motor was runned in, or could be the drive by wire system on my car is lazy that day :D
Anyway, planning to get Volks rim and VAFCII soon, after that I'd dyno my car again.

really good results. interesting that the 2 euro's were so differnt though.

for comparison sakes, when i got my car dynoed there wwas an automatic vt commodore that put out 95kw at the wheels.

they ran my car in 4th gear and hit the speed limiter with the power reaching 111kw at the wheels. i have pod filter and cat back zorst.

Excellent results!!

over 100kw@tw in a Euro is already very good in my opinion.

According to the data I dug up off my tuner's DTS Dyno... They range from 95-105Kws......

But you have to take into account the dyno used, the weather, humidity and no two cars are the same....

105-110kW on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

you should have dynoed in 4th, always use the gear that´s got the closest to 1:1 ratio. and that´s 4th with 1.028:1. 3rd gear runs will most likely give false readings(dynoing too high).
