I originally had my camed B16 tuned about 2 years ago - hasn't been back to a tuner since. Browsing through sManager recently I noticed the knock sensor disabled. Is this a bad idea? and should I go back for a retune occasionally?

It could be disabled because your ECU does not support a Knock Sensor. Unless you have a P30 or P72 ( JDM ) chances are you wont have a knock PCB in your ECU.
no need to retune unless you have an issue or a good reason for it.

thanks again. so the knock park of the ecu is on it's own PCB?
i thought it was P72 but will have to double check. deffinitely OBD2b though.

your car might be OBDIIb but your ECU is not, S300 only fits OBDI ECU's
if you have a P72 then you may have a knock PCB in it.

dunno what drugs i'm on! lol. it's a P28 :) according to the sticker on the side.
there's a small PCB on the inside of the ecu housing where the cables plug in. i guess this does the same job as a conversion harness.
anyway, car not starting again. will update my other thread :(
