So the demon eye failed. I was only supposed to paint the cut off shield plate thingy. But I fkn painted the reflector bowl. -.o So I'm a nub, so anyway I bought a new pair of projectors, but I was such a newb I bought LHD ones, but promptly messaged trs and they switched it for me. Anywho, I'll buy them again and do the demon eye DIY again, and hopefully it'll work this time. -.- can't believe how stupid I was.

And today I bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370789568471?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
I saw it and instantly wanted it. The price is great and I honestly think most of the carpet is just dirty, not worn. So I'm gonna clean it up really good and I reckon it'll look mint. :D Probably won't use in my Accord because I want a black carpet... and I don't wanna mess around with this rare item. So I'm just gonna keep it in the shed or something to use on my next Accord. :) Should be awesome! :D I love the Accord logo! :D

I also got 2 Dynamat Extreme sheets in the other day, and put the passenger side on. :) Very good stuff. I'll be attempting to put the driver's side on this weekend. And gotta wait for my other 2 rear sheets in.

I am also going to try and install the DC5 seats in! :D So keen for that!

Anywho, just thought I'd update all of you. :)

How did you go about making the seat rails. I'm tempted to do the seat swap also.

I haven't done them quite yet. :P But when I do (hopefully this weekend), I'm buying 30mm thick steel. For the fronts all I'll be doing it drilling 2 holes in one piece (one for the cd5 hole in the car and one for the dc5 hole on the seat) and putting a bolt through the cd5 hole, and finally a stud with a hex key hole in it, secured on the other side by a nut. :) (So I'll be having to put the adapter - the piece with the 2 holes - on first, which means the stud and the nut onto the seat first, hahaha, otherwise how am I going put the stud on as it'll be flat on the ground! :P ) And then same on the other side, and finally on the back I'll pretty much be doing the same thing, but one of the holes doesn't line up at all - it's like 30mm skewed - so I'm gonna have to get a wider piece of steel but I'll be doing the same thing. :)
This way I'll be safe if I get in an accident, it'll be stronger than the stock rails, and I don't have to munt the dc5 rails so if I choose to sell them I can. :)

These were a pain in the ass, and I didn't quite get them in right. But! I got them on, and they look good, they're comfortable and they're (hopefully) not coming off. :P
I think my brother broke a clip pulling up the bottom on the seat cause now it just seems to flip up whenever someone would pull it up. -.- UGH. But anywho, no one is going anywhere if they sit in it. :P They look great! The only REAL problem I have, is in the middle, they're provided a velcro strip so you can pull it up and still have use of the arm rest.

See how it doesn't sit properly on the sides? Here:

:( Might see the seller will offer any advice / partial refund. Either that or I'm a nob at putting seat covers on - which is entirely possible. :(

Did some dying today:

http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/311091_587045597980389_1987412282_n.jpg

http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/525419_587021557982793_211879816_n.jpg

And I believe I forgot to show these, which I did a few weeks back:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/IMG_6059_zps46cdaca6.jpg

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/IMG_6060_zpsd81e4027.jpg

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/IMG_6063_zpsc0c1711e.jpg

^ for the seat belt for the dc5 seat. I had to take the cd5 one off, and put it on the dc5 as it is a different belt / connection thingy.

I also painted the drivers side scuff guard and seat belt cover pillar thingy. But forgot to take a picture.

And took this today on my way back from washing her. :)

http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/422120_587040311314251_855158670_n.jpg

Been a little rocky between her and I over the passed week or so. :/ With the demon eyes failing for the second time and my alarm dying on me. :( The demon eyes failed cause there isn't enough light coming into the lens. :( It looks like this without the shroud:

http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/552894_586649168020032_2012887368_n.jpg

And with the shroud:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/IMG_6082_zpsfd7e99e3.jpg

:( :( :( :( :( :( So $120 wasted. You can actually see the colour diminish as you put the shroud over the projector. :( So upsetting.

As to why the alarm failed, I'm unsure yet. I've done some research, and I was suggested to check all fuses (all are fine), check all earthing (but I didn't install, so I have no idea), check the batteries (I went to the shop and bought new ones.. which helped a little. Got the remote back to 100%) or it could be a manufacturer default. My model was rolled back for this exact problem that I'm having. Might have to call the bloke who installed it for me... unfortunately it means I'll have to manual lock the doors and there will be no alarm, no immobilizer... no security. I'm so gutted...

Did quite a bit today. Went to a suspension shop to get an idea of what was wrong in the front, and they told me what I already knew... wasting $100. They said it wasn't chassis which is good, so I'll work on replacing the broken pieces in the front. :)

I also rolled the rears (which was a fkn nightmare to do). I'm using a nolathane stick and they were just so stiff!! (Unlike the fronts) but I did manage to lower her about 2 inches and sneak the tire inside the guard. :)

Here is before:
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/image_1366702049732228_zps81c0b38b.jpg

Not dumped on her ass, but it's the height I have been searching for. :) Closes the wheels gap. :D Pretty happy with it to be honest. Although I might raise it just a tad after the meet this weekend. :P Just so I don't get any scrubbing. I took my brother to the shops about 30 mins ago and the rear was scrubbing a bit. But it could be cause he's a fatass and was weighing it down a bit. I'm hoping it'll be fine if it's just me. :)

Here are a few pictures I got this morning at uni. :) Front sits balls deep high but I will fix the suspension issues and drop it also. :)

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/image_1366780364082996_zps6ec1457e.jpg

Nevertheless, still happy with it. :D I'm scrubbing up some steep driveways... not much I can do about it really. :/

Here's a side picture for those who were a little unclear to what I meant when I said "suspension problems".

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/image_1366780364083004_zpsdf8ecfef.jpg

See how the front wheel is sitting closer to the cabin than it is the front bumper? turns out I have a bunch of broken suspension parts in the front. So I'll need to get those fixed also. :)

I managed to get a hold of the guy who did my alarm and I'm heading to his place at 9am Saturday for him to have a look / fix it. :) Fingers crossed!

Still working on fitting the dc5 seats, fingers crossed I can get them in before Saturday also so I can have the DC5 seats in before the honda meet. :)

ball joints (upper and lower, on both sides), cross member, caster rods, the radiators support is bent and I think there's some other stuff but Id on't have the sheet with me.

Got this in the mail today! >:D For those who do not know what this is, let me school you!

"Later, Isuzu entered a more substantial model-exchange alliance with Honda. Among other models, it encompassed the rebadging of the Honda Accord sedan as the Isuzu Aska. This lasted for two generations - thus the third generation Aska was the fifth generation Accord and the fourth was the sixth generation Accord sedan. The Aska remained a Japanese-only model and was discontinued in 2002."

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/93/ISUZU_ASKA3-1.jpg/800px-ISUZU_ASKA3-1.jpg

So, as you can guess these cars were not as a large seller as the Accord. So obviously the parts are rare. The grill, badges and a few others rare, "specialised" parts were different from the Accords, and much rare than the Accord parts. :) So picked this up for $120 shipped. It's in reasonably good nick too!

The part or the car being rebadged?

The parts: I have many sources I get rare parts from these days. I have a contact in Malaysia, a contact in Indonesia, and a bunch in the US. :) There's also so many websites that are dedicated to my generation Accord in which I find rare parts for sale! :D You know how US hoards them! hahahha! There's also eBay! :D This one I got from my contact in Malaysia!

Finding out it was rebadged: I believe I originally saw it on a forum, but did further research with different forums holding information as well as Wikipedia having a listing on it. :) I really love this gen car! Hahaha

You probably won't see too much of them. I plan on paying someone to repair the small amount of rash, I need to buy spacers to clear the UCAs, I want to replace the "Evolution 3" stickers with new ones and also get some genuine Rays air caps. :D I'm also thinking about getting them polished up. :) Until that time I probably won't run them. When the above is completed I'll probably only use them as a "meets and cruises" wheel and use my black ones as dailys. :) I'm gonna take good care of them so I don't rash them up or get any nicks on them. :)

There is another place virtually across the other side of the road from them but can't remember what they are called. One is supposedly better then the other but can't remember which sorry!

Was on my way home, no one around me and a cop pulls me over saying I'm too low. Didn't measure, didn't look to see what suspension I was running... just stuck her fingers in my rear gap and said she knew it was illegal. I didn't wanna argue cause a. she knew I Was running illegal suspension - even though she couldn't tell me what she thought it was and b. I didn't want her poking around at anything else (lights, tint, seats, etc)

I'm quite upset... I don't really have the time or money to fix this at the moment.

Yep. I'm just really upset. Got to spend time ripping apart the car and pay to get it through regency. :( I was hoping to spend that time on something fun, like diys and all the long list of crap I have to do. :(

So do you have to go to regency or can just get it done at the local station?

Regency -.o
Which means they'll probably pick on all of the broken suspension parts in the front too, because even though on the paper she gave me it clearly says regency can only look at the parts described on the paper, I have a feeling they will go for everything else. (Tint, headlights, seats, etc)

They will probably check everything that has a safety implication- lighting, suspension, seatbelts etc. I would be keen to know the full process- we can trust ou to do a full write up! I have only ever been for a roadworthy and no one ever tells the full story of going to clear a defect..

At least you got in really soon for the inspection, I have heard of it taking up to a month for a booking!

Actually I was quite surprised, when I called the lady I spoke to said she could fit me in TOMORROW MORNING. I said it was a bit early as I hadn't fixed the defect yet, so she told me she could fit me in ANYTIME I wanted over the next 2 weeks. Either I am a smooth talker (which, come on ;) ) or they are literally low on defect and rwc checks. o.o

I will report what I can. Tomorrow is the day I de-rice. Headlights, grill, visors, seats, clusters, interior lighting, tail lights, etc. If it's a mod I've done, you better believe it's coming off. I don't have more money or more time to go through this crap again. :P I want first time results. I will also be repairing my damaged suspension parts (even though they are only bent - not broken). I don't want them to knock me back for any reason. Although, I do not have replacement lcas. :/ so hopefully it'll be okay.

This is where I am at right now. When the defect is cleared, I'll be coming back stronger, lower and more intense!

YOanthony
31-07-2013, 03:11 PM
Took the girl to the police station today, they cleared the defect! I go home, 20 minutes later I have a knock at my door "Hi, Mr Anthony ______? Unfortunately there was an error in our paperwork and your defect was not cleared. You actually need to go down to the vehicle inspection facility to clear this defect." ... 5 minutes later "oh wow this is such a nice car! I'm a Honda boy too! I used to own a 97 Integra! Slammed to shit! Then I joined the academy.." 10 minutes later "I can appreciate the work you have already put into it to bring it up to an acceptable standard! You should have no problem getting through the inspection!"

and then I chime in with "thanks! I really appreciate that! You'll probably see me again in a couple weeks, I plan to drop the car on it's ass after I clear the defect!"

Stupidest... move... ever. I hope he isn't waiting outside my house later next week :P Or I will be so pissed off with myself..

Anywho, got the coilovers out this morning before I tried to clear the defect. Here's what she's sitting like:

Jesus I miss being low. :( It's too comfortable being this high and having this much sidewall! As I've been saying to people, I think this is a blessing in disguise though. I managed to fix some problems with my head unit, it's giving me the motivation to fix my suspension, it's bringing my car up to an acceptable standard and I even get to do some work that I've been trying to do for months but have just been putting off. :/

Anywho, I am going to go cry in the corner for half an hour before going to uni. :(

As she sat this morning. Had the rear pads, front tie rod, front lower ball joint, front sway bar link and front ucas done. The bad news is that it feels REALLY weird. Dan changed the tie rod ends to try to straighten the wheels, so perhaps that it? But when I drive it feels like there is no power steering... but... there is? I think maybe both the front wheels are trying to go in different directions... so it cancels out the power steering? LOL. it's also REALLY easy to steer now... like, no effort at all, but the wheel just doesn't return to straight without my help..

This may mean I need a wheel alignment, yeah? to fix it? or do you think my power steering is ****ed? I wouldn't think so as we didn't touch the power steering.. oh well. I will probably get the alignment when I get the coils and wheels back on as it'd just be a waste of money. apparently they don't even drive the car at the inspection, I do everything... so...

oh! and I got some degreaser and cleaned up the bottom. I think the vtec solenoid is leaking cause there's a small leak but I replaced all the gaskets for the sump, etc. Soo. I hope it doesn't leak up too much otherwise I will be ****ed for the inspection :/

YOanthony

I did not pass my inspection today :(

Fog lights don't work (as I unplugged them), rear eyebrow brake light doesn't work, both front steering rack boots ****ed and apparently an oil leak even though I came in this morning to dans and got it cleaned...

The guy was a dick too "oh if you just use a pressure washer and clean it off and come back you should be okay"... SO WHY THE **** DIDN'T HE JUST PASS ME?

Yeah I couldn't agree more!
Dan thinks the leak is from the VTEC solenoid. It's such a small leak though. And what is messed up is that I was at Dan's this morning and he cleaned the sump and everything for me. I saw it with my own eyes! It was clean :( and even more messed up? I cleaned it least week on Friday and then this morning there was next to nothing. :/ So it's kinda dodgy. It should of been clean!

As some of you know I passed inspection today so I am literally over the moon. :D :D :D :D
I was quite nervous there for a long time. I couldn't get my 3rd brake light working because of the dodgy holder :/ so I literally grabbed some tape I had holding up my speaker wires and taped the bitch down :P half the light wasn't even getting out, but it was worth it :)
Dan did my steering rack boots (but they were the wrong ones. damn my manager -.-) so I picked up some universal ones which... don't quite fit, but got me through. :) Dan also replaced my VTEC solenoid seals and barely any leaks. :) So good news all round. Unfortunately dan was super busy so no coilovers today, next week sometime. :)

and instead of putting all my rare and better parts on when I got home, I decided to do this. Plasti-dip matte black all round;

http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/q74/s720x720/1150386_636215169730098_928551068_n.jpg

I think I'm running -2/2.5 natural camber on the rear when it's dumped which is more than enough for me. :)

Lowered the front about 3" today, drove around, had a photoshoot. Here are some pics:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/IMG_2610_zps7c2f1c23.jpg

It actually looks great. I was over the moon... It's the stance I want. BUT. hahah yes, there is always a but.

Whenever I went over a pot hole, a small increase in elevation on the road, the UCAs would bang the top of the strut tower. There was also the fact that the fender lining was sitting on top of the tire :P Not to mention I was rolling cop bait :P Oh, and here's a nice surprise I got when I got home;

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f144/Anton2436/1175609_646475242037424_1717767098_n_zps130498cb.j pg

Massive chunks taken out of the tire. :P Oh so fun. So I raised her back up a little for daily running about. Less cop bait, but still cop bait. might grab a shot of the height tomorrow if I got some time. It's not appalling, but at least I can race now with no scrubbing, get up driveways without scraping and enjoy the car a little more. I've stiffened the suspension a lot more and I plan on dumping her an inch all round for meets.

Anywho, glad I got the castor fixed, I can full lock now and racing around feels a lot better. Next up; wheel alignment, service (oil, filter and coolant) and well, paying my debts now. :P

Took the car to Bridgestone Select today. They got a new wheel alignment machine and their appointments were backed by about an hour and a half so I had to wait around a little bit - but eh. No biggie. They ended up giving me a 30% discount for my patience which was nice of them. :) The alignment was done really well too, she feels much more controllable. It's okay though. :) I'm not butthurt. He has a really nice Accord. I think it's rare to find the CM modified in Australia than it is the CD.
Props to longers. :)

Nice little cruise & shoot I did with a friend the other day. Photos came out good. Here are some of his if you'd like to see them:

Anywho, picked up Penrite 10w-50 fully synthetic + ryco filter z79a. I will most likely be sticking to this combo from now until I do the / a swap. A lot of things have been playing me about this as I initially wanted to do a H swap to finish out phase 1. N/A.. achieve 300hp at least. But I've been doing some research this week and I heard it's really not feasible to do this. It's better to just turbo and leave it at that. But I've never really foreseen a turbo on my car. So I'm playing around with this. :( I'm also thinking about when I'll be getting a new car. I imagine after I have some fun with this Accord she'll go in a garage where I can more intensively work on her for track / midnight runs >:D So buying a new car will be something to think about. I'd love an import of some kind. :) Maybe a Wagon SiR? White + Bags + EVO3s + H22 = :D :D :D :D

As for what's next, there's so much stuff I've been putting off doing as to my laziness. For example I'm missing a bolt that goes from bumper > fender on the driver side (prevalent in the pictures above), I'm missing a couple of bolts per headlight, my cluster is missing t5s, I want to spray the mesh on the Azet grille black, need to fix the bumper sag / mis-alignment, the interior needs to be re-painted in satin black, the rest of the UV bulbs needs to be put in the AC/Climate, I need to replace my niteshade passenger fender blinker, she needs a good claybar and compound, I also want to replace the corners. I was going to buy new ones and buy this 'smoke' vinyl wrap for it. I want to lose the white inside, but I never wanted to lose it permanently or completely. So this may be a better solution. From day one I was never a fan of the niteshade on the corner. I'll also be hunting for a complete S2K wheel (hopefully with cruise control, but not big deal if it doesn't). And I need to replace the door courtesy lights with proper UV globes as opposed to purple/pink. OH and one final thing. DC5 seats!! I'm yelling at the metal workers everyday to try and get this stuff down. But they're always late with this project! Everything is ready to go I just need one last piece for the drivers side and that's it! 100% DONE! :( but they're taking their time!

So this small stuff should keep me busy whilst I think. :D

Dayum man you've been busy thinking about this stuff too
I was also pondering going turbo - but not for a DD
Read over Jcck's and kinda got a bit jelly

Hmmm go with all the latter of repairing cat to the condition you're happy with then go and do the 'power' mods
lol my bumper is sagging exactly like your's is - i need a whole new bumper and re-alignment too :P

Damn, been almost 2 months since I've updated this thread. I suppose I've been too carried away with the Aerodeck, ahha

So I did an oil change a few weeks ago, been trying to fix up the dodgy shit first. I've fixed a little of the bumper sag, I ended up installing my oem mats, I've finished the DC5 seat install and I've been replacing little trim pieces that I was too lazy to put on (ie, mirror trim covers).

I'll post some pics of how things are looking below, but as for the future of this car. I'll definitely be keeping it. Next up I'd like to replace the bonnet (I think the alignment is a bit dodge, so I may as well get a good one from the wrecker and get it sprayed - I got quoted $59 for the bonnet, so not too bad). I'd also like to replace the boot (because the holes and melted gaffa tape aren't doing it for me anymore). I'd also like to drop off the doors to get the trim taken off and get that cool bump revealed (NOTE: Like this http://tinyurl.com/kgzml38 ). Last time I was at the wrecker I saw some leather trim door cards (and full letaher interior in good condition but I don't want it) which I'd like to pinch. Not sure how much they were but the entire doors I got quoted $99ea. So it'll be less than that. I'd also like to respray the interior to a flat black, as opposed to the gloss I did it in (such a bad decision :( ). Apart from that, I have nothing else upcoming. H22 swap has been put off until I get the Aerodeck up and running.

The seats are extremely comfortable :3 Unfortunately I can't have them reclined where I want them, so I have to have it one notch back so my head doesn't hit the roof. But it's not biggy. :)

Went to local wrecker and picked up leather door cards. They're not great, but they'll do for the mean time :)
I have to cut tweeter holes in the front and I want to chop up my old front doors and take out the speaker grill / cover and try retrofit it on the new leather rear door cards, and finally hook some speakers up in the rear doors. I also wanna paint these ones a flat black. Gloss was not a good idea and I'm glad I now have the opportunity to change it!

Here are some pics:

Painted the front passenger and rear passenger today. Here are the results:

Fitment - The bottom sits flush. The top doesn't. I'm still happy with it and I think it'll look stock as a rock in the car :D

I pretty much just took off the speaker grill from my old front door card and then traced around the hole remaining with some cardboard, taped it to the new door card and dremeled it out. I also cut out the hole for the tweeter in the front door, but I measured it out so it'd sit in the middle and look more oem.

Happy with how it's turning out so far. The front dried already (as I did it first) and the leather is still super soft and awesome. :3 So it's been a win-win-win day. :D

I simply gave it a solid polish and it came up almost new. Very pleased. However at the same time, it's bittersweet. I had to take it off. SAPol blows.

As of yesterday. She comes up pretty good for an 18 year old car that's spent a lot of time outside.
I wish I could drive her like this everyday, however maintaining the paintwork in my current living situation is near impossible. Our carport is open on one side, and we get a lot of winds, rain and dust that get through that side onto the cars... which sucks. Maybe one day when I move out from home I'll be able to get a nice place with a closed garage.
