Can a Auto P13 ECU run on a Manual Prelude Si, Auto ECU on a manual ????

Hi,
I am doing a conversion Prelude Si --> VTEC , But all the guy has are Engines off AUTO cars with AUTO ECUs !!! Can they be installed on a Manual Prelude ?? The guy said u just dont use the Auto wires and it runs fine...is he just trying to sell it or is he right ??

umm.. i heard with an auto ecu if running a manual box, u get the check engine light and run into some problems? not 100% sure tho, maybe someone can give more info

it will not idle properly cos auto ecu's compensate the rpm for when the car is in gear so it wont stall.

i read it somewhere before while i was researching info to do my swap.

Probably can convert your P13 ECU to manual for you, but as an Auto ecu it will trip the MIL coz of the laking trans torque converter solenoids.
