Wondering if anyone has used a carbon fibre bonnet on their DC2R or DC5R.
Did it make any discernable difference?
Whats the most weight you can save with a decent carbon fibre bonnet?
Are they legal for road use?

Not ADR approved because they cannot take the bending stresses of a normal hood. they shatter instead of resist the impact, i.e. they can't assist with the crumping effect.
and the shards are sharp and dangerous to pedestrians
I can't tell you about the weight saving though

Normal bonnet weighs about 20kg
Carbon fibre about 5

eg hatch bonnet = 8-9kg
cf fake bonnet (cf on fibreglass) oem style = 6kg
really depends on the make/build of the cf bonnet
not legal but most would do it anyway

More cop attention gains, Cant drop the hood and expect it to shut.
