Dotted lines are minor model updates, while solid lines represent major model changes.
The dotted pattern in the Accord timeline through Royal Ruby Red, means that although this colour was never officially advertised by Honda for the 8th gen Accord, a very small number were brought in (less than 10), thus making it one of the rarest colour combinations.

Information going back that far is really hard to find. I see you have a '96 Accord though... I managed to find the '96 colours here:

Click on the 'impatient' link if it doesn't come up.

lol. They switched to that colour in 2006-2007 for all Honda models. I don't know why they went with Buran for the 2nd. gen models.

At least 5 should come up on that link. Adriatic Blue Pearl, Sherwood Green Pearl, Taffetta, Heather Mist Metallic, San Marino Red, and an unnamed 6th colour...

New Accord Euro colours for 2012!!
Cobalt Blue is back after being absent since 2010. It replaces Celestial Blue, which only lasted a year.
Euro's longest running and only original colour, Premium White, is finally retired and replaced by the new White Orchid.
And we have a new addition, Forged Silver, which is a darker silver that doesn't replace any existing colour.
I've updated the chart to reflect the changes.
