It's targa top, needs lots of reinforcement.

The weight on a del sol is
2,295 lb (1,041 kg) - 2,535 lb (1,150 kg)
But before people think thats heavy.
A k24 delsol ran a 12.2 (full street trim)
And many b16a turbo del sols have run 11's before.
Not that has anything to do with it.
Cause any engine modifications can be done to get the desired result.
Oddly enough i havent seen them as track cars, but i can say they are fantastic street cars, cheap on fuel the overall curvy styling exterior and of course Targa. Not some cheap canvas softtop.

How is overall handling and acceleration
Well I can only say from experience. But mine sits lower than my ek1 and is much stiffer also has wider tires (195 insted of 175). Ran the 175 from the civic far a while and it howled like a mofo, and got jittery under hard braking. But with the 195s it handles like a dream, small understeer if you realy push.
As for acceleration it's a vtec Honda. It rapes once it gets going. But I fing the b16a is a bit of a toque-less wonder.

cause i had been rollin on 15x8 and lowered on coilovers i could take a corner very hard and it would do it quiet well.
The b16a is nice for what is it short sharp and punchy.
But i still think a b18c would be perfect for this chassis.
Then again how many b18c delsol's are there

That are for sale. - 0

^^^ I can agree with snoop
I could take corners very nicely and I had only d2 coilovers felt like a go kart

Gen2 tin-top was 890kg, everything else weighs more.
Bludger is quite right, the roof adds a lot of weight plus increased safety precautions from Gen2 to Gen3.

Yeah they shouldn't mislead people on Redbook by quoting 899kgs

send them an email to correct the discrepancy if you're keen.

Haha will do. Yeah I personally think b18 don't got much torque so I don't think I'll like b16s unless in an eg

Well that's good because the del sol uses the eg sub frame :D

You can save a few kg by converting as many bolts and screws to titanium
Also control arms to forged alloy and aftermarket brake calipers

When it was stock, i dunno what it weighs now but in race trim it has nothing in the boot, no carpet, sound deadner, rear trims top and bottom compartments, heater/blowerbox, lighter bucket seats
so all that probably adds to about -50kg in weight i reckon? so 1030kg or so without driver in race trim
The K20 weighs about the same as B16 engine with ac and ps but mine is running no p/s a/c so minus about 20kg or so aswell but hey whos counting >? lol

that dosnt sound right. But I'm not gonna say your wrong.
Last time I had mine weighed (friends works fancy ass car lift tells you your weight) mine came in at 1150 with me in and everything in (plus a huge sub box and two subs) so I was happy.

They weigh pretty much the same , within a few kg of each other give or take. Search it up if you don't believe me, plenty on dudes in USA weigh them for fun
