Hi guys,
So a while back some low life tried to break into my car (pretty sure he did).
Now the door locks are damaged. If I get new door locks (from a wrecker) can I get them to open to my key?
Or am I forced to change everything (ignition, doors, trunk) and get keys from the donor car?
Thanks

You'll need to change everything unfortunately

I thought I'd give a genuine response, didn't want to be too sarcastic either
But who's not to say a sarcastic response would not have been helpful?

So every single lock needs changing?
Are locks expensive (2 doors, ignition, trunk)?

no, they made your key universal, so you can use on locks that came from other cars.

Have a look into Solex locks and just keep a different key for opening the doors.

surely you can get the thing re-barrelled or whatever it's called, and have it work to your key? o.0

Yes most locksmiths can modify/change the pins in the replacement lock to suit your original key
most ppl just get new barrel that came with a new key and you end up with a key for door and your old key for the rest of car.
but if you have remote door unlocking with your alarm/immob then not a hassle on a daily basis with 2 different keys to drive car.
or as grifty said go to a locksmith.
Those that specialise in car keys do that on a daily basis and they can code just about any barrel to your exisiting key easily. Not cheap though.
