EF8 Headlight Reflector

hey guys, has anybody done this before, to any headlight, doesnt necessarily need to be ef8. i would like to slightly smoke the headlight reflector.
opinions? methods?

I've heard of a black spray paint can called "shades" which you just spray over it to darken the plastic. Applying more coats to desired darkness.
