car doesnt start

Hey guy went to go work today and found my car doesnt start. its got power but doesnt crank.
i know there are a lot of things to take into consideration but anyone got and ideas on what i can checheck?

Ill get it checked by my mechanic tomorrow as i am at work but just seeing if it can be a quick fix:
its a dc2 vtir

check under the bonnet, see if the engine is still there.
try jump start it. (battery might be dead, even if you have ignition lights)
Wiggle ignition barrel around with the key inserted. (bad contacts in the barrel)
tap starter motor with a mallet( bad contacts in the starter)

Any ticking noises?? Or is it just silent
