Easy question here.. Does this look like a sump gasket leak? Opinions?

Oil leak is next to the belts (anything else that can leak there?). If it is I shall get it changed when I do the transmission oil. I degreased where it seemed to be dripping but cant get a decent look at it to pinpoint exactly. Its a slow drip

Recently had cam/ crank/ vc seals replaced along with t-belt/ water pump. Looking back should have got it done also.. :thumbdwn:

eveyrone's going to say the same thing: hard to tell.

you really need to get a proper look from above the sump gasket... but yeah quite possibly given what you've already done

worse, could be cam seals or crank seal that are leaking, best outcome, just a sump seal broken which can be replaced easy

(Mugen_ctr here lol, using bros account)

for all you know it could be one of the seals you got replaced!

I went crazy with my upper cam seal...but others i just replaced with oem gasket...Might be sump, re torque each bolt to see neither of them are loose

Thanks guys, I've got a torque ratchet so Ill give that a shot.

@trism I also have some gasket glue would it not be worth trying to smear some where I believe the leak to be?

Yep would definitely suck if it the seals I got replaced

See if you can trace it up.

Doesn't look too bad to me. Are you losing much oil?

Sump gasket isn't always easy btw. Sometimes very hard to fix it properly as the sump can warp quite easily due to repeated heat exposure.

both of my previous Eks had sump seepage. I had em for 2 years each car, and never got them fixed. At sale time I got the old degreaser out.

IMO, if it ain't leaking onto the garage floor, you can live with it.

Sump gasket isn't always easy btw. true dat

u probably have to remove the headers/b pipe.

And it is a dirty job, but doable

If its about 5mm then go for it. But don't smear it around the entire front of the sump, because if you do need to take the sump off, its going to be a pain.

Yeah it's a very small leak only a few drops every couple of days or so. I believe I've traced it to around the bottom of the timing cover at the semi circle area, basically the exact the spot in the pic

I did give the bolts a bit of a turn as they did seem a touch loose, then cleaned up the oil and put a bit gasket glue there. Will have to see how that goes
