I have a 1994 Honda Accord Exi 2.2L automatic sedan.

Am buying parts to get it fixed. The suppliers are asking if the engine is F22B1 or F22B3. I am not sure which one I have, is there a way to tell from an engine plate or something else?

A few years back the engine blew and I had a replacement engine put in as well. The engine still has writing on it that says RA1, F22B.

Exclusive to the EX was the F22B1 SOHC VTEC version of previous generation 2.2-liter 4-cylinder

looks like you have a F22B1 buddy.

You have an F22B3.

Have you guys never heard of redbook?

Here's your model,

Just FYI, the Accord F series SOHC engine is the best flowing head Honda has ever made.

Bisimoto have made 415whp NA F22 Accord engine.

He doesn't have vtec, so what's the point of that post?

B18C7 is vtec, you have F22B3, Accords never came with B18's. DC2's came with B18's.

That'd be the F22A
And the 'A' is very important.
F22A shits all over the F22B.
And Bisi also bored this out to 2.4L

didn't realise it was from an odyssey...

what does it say under the rad hose in that photo?

Odyssey lol

It said under the radiator hose:

HM
F22B
(some numbers) 42145?

Here is a black and white image

21657

Can having this Odyssey engine cause any complications?

In particular I've been shopping around for the following parts:

manifold intake gasket
rear exhaust (has a hole in it)
alternator belt
sump gasket
engine mounts
timing belt/balance shaft belt

Have been asked the question "is this for a F22B3 or F22B1" should I be telling them I have an Odyssey F22B engine?

And here is the funny thing...I took the car in to Honda after they informed me of a safety recall issue with the balance shaft seal, it was after they fixed this that my AC stopped working.

Regarding ur PM question u sent me - no it won't have an issue if you have an odyssey engine, just search for the right engine code. It may vary between years, just make sure u double check with the parts manufacturer

It looks like an F22B3.

Lookie here for interesting info, I wonder what his source is:

http://www.preludepower.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333414

JDM engines were stamped only as F22B.

Tell them the engine is an F22B RA1 out of an Odyssey (seems like 95-97 era) and they should be able to find it.

The RA1 that is written on your new swapped engine refers to the chassis code of the Odyssey it came out of.

The Accord and Odyssey shared a common platform and a lot of compatible mechanicals

Thanks guys. The suppliers confirmed gaskets for Odyssey and Accord F22B3 are the same.
