hi, im not sure weather this has been covered previously or not but i could not find it in the 'search' so yeah...
i have breifly read/ herd about inserting a Y shaped peice of pipe into your exhaust system before any restrictions and having the path of the gases controled by a 'flap' either mechanicaly or electonically controlled, i guess down one side i would have standard exhaust and sown the other an afta market system with high flow cat and cannon etc. has anyone done this or seen it and is there possibly any DIY guide on it?
any help would b great thanks.

i dont think anyone would want to waste their time doing something like that.
whats your reason for this anyway? it would just add more weight to your car and i dont think theres any more space under the car for 2 exhaust pipes....?

my friend has this on his vr4. the Y pipe is controlled electronically. it connects between the dump piep and the cat.
when his dragin he switches the flap to open air so all the exhuast gasses goes to a pipe with no restriction into the atmospheere sraight from the dump.
when his driving normally he has the flap swtiched so the exhaust gassess goes through the standard system, all quiet and stuff.

joyride, you can get h and y pipes for 8's. Olskool Integra Boy, is your car turbocharged? i personally wouldnt recommend on a n/a 4cyl.
not even turbo i guess, unless it was street/strip and made proper use out of it.

if ur gonna have a y pipe on ur exhaust, why feed one thru a standard exhaust and the other thru a sports exhaust? just vent the other one directly into the atmosphere! save weight

jus wear ur earmuffs ha ha ha

hmm i believe the new enzo has exactly this system

well actually i have since decided that i would b better going straight into the atmosphere, but with no cat does that mean id be popn flames out under my car? and i wanna do this rather then full exhuast coz i dont wanna spend alot of money on the car and with it turned on it would be less restrictive then full exhaust anyway...
zelda, could u find out where your mate fot his from?
