Hey all,

I just updated my front lights to genuine philips ultinon 6000k lights and have noticed that my passenger D2S will turn off say after every 20 minutes from my work to home which take 21 minutes.

Yesterday it lasted 50 minutes before turning off and then turning light off and on again worked for the remaining 1h:30m journey.

Its very intermittent - and the lights are genuine not fakes.

I checked the connection its all good... cant get to the ballast to inspect with out ripping bumper out..

Anyone had success or issues in getting things like this fixed - never occurred with original osram hid from factory.

Overheating issue? Do the other lights say on, i.e fog lights, parkers, interior lights?

Correct me if i'm wrong but.. phillips don't produce 6000k HID bulbs
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?319325-Fake-Philips-HID-bulbs-very-common-now-in-fact-on-the-internet-most-are-Counterfeits

anyway sounds like the bulb's onthe way out. swap passenger/driver and see if the driver one goes out

last time it happened to me was due to connection failure so try checking it again. especially if the bulbs have been properly installed or not.

My mate put Phillips Blue Vision lights in his car, burnt out within a year. Question their reliability now...

Sorry to go off topic but was it easy to change your D2S globes?

no.. easier and best way to remove your bumber... if you do without you will get into issues such as proper alignment... getting the grounding pin inside the headset pulled out which will result in bumper removal... better remove the bloody bumper lol... too many plastic clips but its worth it in the end..

There are halogens and were probably higher wattage than stock, what's it got to do with their hid range?

Wouldn't then most obviouse thing to do to eliminate ballast failure to put stock d2s bulbs back in?

I reckon it could be the bulbs if that's all you've changed

was actually faulty ballast.. replaced under 1 hour at honda dealer lol... they asked if i had changed the lights seeing those plastic clips holding the bumper were damaged... i said yes and they just shrugged their shoulders... its been there 3rd car for the my12 they were saying had ballast issues after ppl changed their d2s lights... one common issue was ppl pulled the white clip that acts as grounding inside the light fitting that cause burnouts or issues... meh warranty :)

lucky! Normally they'd tell you to get lost if you break something by changing things

with mine was just faulty ballast... i did proper route of removing bumper and ensuring the Metal U-Clip and grounding was proper... he did question me how i did the change and explained to him... he laughed it off as many have done the 'dumbass routine' of not removing bumper :P
