Hey guys, i just bought an s2k and need to pass roadworthy, just wondering if these king springs are too low or?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-S2000-AP-1999-07-SEDAN-FRONT-REAR-LOW-30mm-LOWERED-COIL-KING-SPRINGS-/150714921232?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23174f3110
they say it will lower the car by 30mm from factory height.

I measured my car the other day, stock suspension is around 140mm i think, so I imagine you would be ok, but king springs have been known to vary etc..

Your vehicle from the lowest point must be 10 cm off the ground. That what it says in the book. But not all mechanics can be stuffed so will pass you by look.

Roll a tennis ball under your car if it gets caught or doesn't come out the other side it's not legal height

i have been told this by a couple of family friends who are police, that Police officers (in QLD anyway not sure about everywhere else) have been instructed to user their notepads which are 100mm. If the notbook doesnt fit then its a defect

A tennis ball is 6.7cm. If it don't come out, you're too low. If it does come out, you might still be too low.

king springs are shit. they dont level the car out. each wheel will be at different heights as quality control on the product isnt great. even says on their website it will lower 30-35mm. Get eibach springs. they are much better and they are designed to go well with stock shocks

why dont you just get a ruler...
androo

Yes, use a ruler. Note that depending on the person checking, they may or may NOT include small things like your mud flaps. So include this in your measurement if you want to be 100% trouble free. Or just take them off.
Also, the S2000 stock is a great handling car. Please don't put kings on them!!!! You'll be ruining the handling of the car. Go Eibach if you're after something not too expensive but works great and won't kill your stock shocks. The cost of blown shocks will knock out any change you got from going Kings instead of Eibach.

Its 4" or 10cm, just went through this with a minor defect for being too low.
Put standard shocks and springs in, took it into the Vic roads for a inspection and would you believe on our AP1 their height checker was just barely touching the rear mudflaps in front of the rear wheels and she was carrying on that the car was still too low.
It wasnt until i took out my iphone and got under to record where she was making contact that she realized she was being stupid and passed it.
Point is remove your flaps before going in for test or driving around, they are the lowest points on a AP1.
