Hi all
The brake pedal of my EG5 civic always gets lower when I step on it at traffic lights, and even when the car is off....I was told there's leaking of my brake master cylinder (the brake fluid is gone by time as well)
so now im thinking about rather than getting the same BMC maybe I should just get a better one as a upgrade?
I checked some of the old posts here, some ppl put the BMC and booster of the DC2 to the EG.....so I wonder, without changing the booster, could I fit the BMC of the DC2 straight to my EG5?
and I heard quite a lot of people doing vtir brake conversion to CIVIC as well...rather than discs and calipers what else it needs for the upgrade?and how much that possibly cost?
cheers,
dorikin

Don't bother upgrading your Brake Master Cylinder (BMC) and Booster to a bigger size without also upgrading your calipers and rotors. If you do upgrade to a bigger BMC (such as 15/16" or 1") and keep your puny 242mm EG brakes you'll have a rock hard pedal which won't be good.
If you're on a budget, a nice cheap upgrade is DC2 VTIR front brakes (262mm rotors and matching calipers) and suitable BMC/booster, 15/16" works well. Also should upgrade Prop valve to 4040.

As stated. Unless ur upgrading brakes there is little point. Just go get the same bmc and Bb.

i had that problem before. follow the brake hose under the master cylinder and see if there is a leak.
this is definately a leak somewhere, changing the cylinder and booster might not fix the problem if the leak is somewhere else.

pretty sure dc2r 282 and vtir 262
dc2r 98 spec + is 282 and vtir/eg6/dc2r 96 spec is 262

Thanks for ur advice but I was guessing of there's a rear leak somewhere it wouldn't take so long to lose all the fluids?
but mine takes few months to lose a bit so im guessing not really a leak?

dc2 bmc will work aslong as its not abs any booster will work well providing you adjust pushrod travel to suit
and the prop valves are prone to leak

dc2bmc will work with abs booster. depending on what it is.
prop valves should also be changed to suit.

got working standard 15/16 MC + Booster here. Pulled it from my civic about 6 months ago due to 262mm upgrade, $50 take both
