Hey guys,
What are the best things to do to a b18c7 while the engine is out of the car? Doing an engine swap for an em1! Was thinking of cams, but anything else worth installing while the engine is out?
Any help and recommendations appeciated!

replace timing belt, aux belts, clutch/flywheel, oil main seal
all service items are easier when engine is out

agree with above,
you'll spend far less hours, hav less scraped knuckles and won't end up swear and cursing as much by doing it with the engine out

degrease your engine bay with a brush and high pressure hose as well. alot easier to clean with the engine out.

Replace fuel filter and also check engine mounts and suspension bushings for degradation/wear, replace as necessary.

Paint your pay if the paints looking dull. Nothing like a freshly cleaned motor and a freshly painted bay to go with it.
I did it in my laurel I'm building, cost me all of $150, 120 for 1L paint and then a big tin Of thinners ( mate already had a gun and compressor) was just done in an open front shed, came out real nice

With NasIf you're painting your engine bay, be sure to use Tupac paint. A Snoop carbon fibre hood would be a nice touch.

^ ahaha thats gangsta.
while your thinkin of what should be installed i would be thinkin what can be removed and made clean.
Does your budget allow for the engine to be shaved.
