All engines (besides a Wankel or Rotary engine) have at least one camshaft. Search 'how an internal combustion engine works' on google

Don't think you'd be driving an ep3 if you don't know what a cam is.

thats right, the older style v configuration engines used a central camshaft with push rods actuating the valves

Alot of the older engines in general were ohv (overhead valve). It was not limited to just v type engines, it was also inline engines that were ohv

Hahaha :D

Generally if someone is specifically pointing out "I got cams" they mean that they have aftermarket cams, probably with a higher lift etc.

For extreme cases of "cams" youtube search killer cams...

cams controls the timing and how much the valve opens. put it simple, valves are like a door of the engine which allows the fuel air mixture into the cylinder, and cams control the timing when it opens and how much it opens.

heavier or higher cams means the longer duration of the valve opens, and opening of the valve is large for more air fuel mixture to go in and more exhaust gas to go out during each combustion cycle.
