NEED HELP!! deciding which car to choose from integra vti-r 98 model or a civic vti-r ek im getting my p's soon and need to buy a car i want a civic because of the loud cross over with a sri but i want a teg beause or looks better torque and a 1.8l but u cant hear the crossover that well i know to make it louder change the manifold to singel stage and a bigger tb but thats money i dont have are there any other cheaper options to make a b18c2 have the same loudness and roaw of the b16a2 can anyone with with this sort of experience help me outt thanks guys :)

personally, I wouldn't worry about the sound of the VTEC crossover when choosing a car. there are much more important things that come before that. the ek has a better chassis. the teg has more low end torque. they are both great cars so it just comes down to personal preference.
and def do not bother with a manifold change or bigger tb. that is a huge waste of money unless you are looking for big power gains. an air filter change will improve the crossover sound.

thanks for the info :) i know if i buy a teg im gonna spend money on it which i wont get back building the crossover and if i buy a civic its got a massive crossover but lacks in power and torque and i just jizz myself over a deep roawing crossover i was thinking about if i do want to spend money i would buy a civic ek i would drop a dc2r gearbox in it with the dc2r headers and exhaust and a good intake with b16b ecu thank probs the best bang for buck other than going crazy in internals that over time will be big bucks and problems. :)

whichever car you see that is cleaner would be my advice.. at the end of the day its not that the teg makes that much more power... but the fact that the civic gives it all higher in the rev range while the teg has better all round power band.

as far as i know, the gbox in the b16a2 is great as long as it has lsd. you'll get better power out of well tuned 4-2-1 aftermarket headers made for the b16 and won't have the hassle of different length (ITR headers taller). as for ecu, why not go hondata or haltech?
honda made their engines so that each component would work in harmony with the rest, that's why the B series makes such great power for its size. it's hard to improve on their engineering.

Or get a CRX. 2 seater. Targa top (take roof off). B16a engine. Wicked crossover.

Harder to see on the streets. Opposed the the common eks or tegs. Just me 2c.

Plus I'm biased because I own one. But they are awesome lil cars. Especially on your P's.

Personally, I'd save up and go for a dc2r. But then again, its hard to find a good one at a good price.

But if you really have to choose from the two, Id prob go for ek4. I've driven my mates ek4, and it is a really fun car to drive. Whale penis intake makes the crossover jizz worthy. Plus, aesthetics wise, I think ek looks much better. Again these are just all personal opinions.

they're not? clean ek4s getting sold for like 9k cos harder to find, dc2 in similar condition/kms round there too maybe a tiny bit higher.

imo get whatever you think looks better, theyre both great cars

I tend to find the EK4 civic vti-r has a louder VTEC noise because the suroof is a better design.

so go for that.

Ek has a better chassis than a DC2............ Maybe after it's been modded but stock for stock the DC2 is better. DC2 is an all round better car. I would get the DC2. BTW a full stop here and there never hurt anyone.

How exactly is dc2 better all round? Its based on eg chassis which is last generation design.

ek is the pinnacle of hondas fwd stable..

Always thought the Integra had the longer wheelbase, I guess not.

dc2 coupe - 2570mm
ek all sedan/hatch/coupe - 2621mm

hmm.

maybe the chassis is the same, but I'm comparing the whole car in general and dc definitely has it over ek.

You get an ek4...you'll want an dc2..
you get an dc2 ...you'll want a ek4...

Anyways, i went dc2, both sick. get one with the lowest km's/best condition/value.

B18c2 can put out more power then b16a2

You'd be stupid to pass up a source of information/opinions such as this if you're trying to make an informed decision.

technical advice is one thing.

what car to get is purely opinion.

and if the OP is wondering what technical problems each car has to fine tune his decision then thats what google is for.

Seriously, if you're not actually interested in talking to other people about cars, then what the **** are you doing here?
