Was the DC5 manufactured in Oz?
or were they all built in Japan and imported over here by Honda Australia?
sorry if this has been answered before, but i couldnt find any threads that would answer this question.

Don't quote me on this, as I am by no means certain, but I'd say...
Absolutely not, no way, not a chance in hell.

The DC5 Type R (Japanese market only) comes standard with a K20A 220 hp (164 kW) 2.0 L DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. The "i" in i-VTEC stands for intelligent VTEC, which employs VTC (Variable Timing Control) to advance or retard the timing up to 50 degrees. The Integra Type R comes equipped with Recaro seats, 4-piston Brembo front brakes, a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and a stiffer suspension.
In 2001 Honda introduced the next generation of the Civic Type R (EP3) as a unique 3-door hatchback ... However, Honda of Japan marketed a JDM (Japanese domestic market) version of the EP3 (which was exclusively manufactured in Swindon,UK and was shipped to Japan), which retained the highly renowned helical LSD similar to that of the EK9 and red Recaro race-seats. Other differences included a more track-oriented chassis/undercarriage settings as compared to the EDM, as well as a 215 PS (158 kW; 212 hp) i-VTEC engine (K20A) had a fully balanced crankshaft assembly with different intake manifold, exhaust manifold, higher-lift camshafts, higher-compression pistons, chrome-moly flywheel and ECU programming. All of the Japan-spec K20A Type-R powertain were built in Japan and were shipped to the Swindon to be install in the Japan-spec Type-R EP3. The JDM EP3 was also available in the traditional Type R championship white while the EDM was not. The EDM has more relaxed gear ratios and some high rpm torque traded for low rpm torque compared to the JDM .

no its not... the ep3 comes with a k20a where the audm dc5r came witha k20a2. Its the same motor as the rsx type s in the states. There are threads about the dc5, i'm not being mean or anything but maybe trying searching

so I'm confused. why are you calling it audm DC5R when they were imported?
I dont think Honda manufacture cars here. I think they come from other asian countries? are you trying to say that not all DC5R's were built in Japan? If so were the audm detuned and what country did the AUDM get manufactured?
the specs on wiki are for the JDM model which usually always has more power ie. DC2R JDM was more powerful than the AUDM release stock and the JDM EP3 is more powerful than the EUDM EP3.
also i tried searching for my answers just couldnt find them using the search tool. So many things come up and its hard to find what your looking for through 20 or more pages worth of found threads using the search.
in my original post of the thread it mentions that i already had tried to use the search and apologized in advance cos i couldnt find anything.

All if them are made in Japan, however they are made to suit different markets with differing emissions regulations, fuel quality and safety standards.
The cars are AUDM, JDM USDM OR EUDM by their spec level not their country of origin

so when importing an EP3 from Japan, will they be detuned due to emission regulations?
does anyone know the specs of the Oz delivered DC5R?

does anyone know the specs of the Oz delivered DC5R?No, retroactively altering a car for export would be a ridiculous amount of work. They are exported as they are built.

If youre after the spec of the engine in the audm dc5r try googling k20a2. The ep3 has a k20a which is a different motor to the australian dc5r. Also our dc5r is the same as the states type s (engine wise)
