I got a 1992 Prelude with JDM H22A and I have a 1993 Civic EG Hatch D15B7
*****OPTIONS*****
H22A Engine in Civic
Or Sell Prelude for $7000 because people want it for that much (top condition)
With $7000 Get a B18c5 Engine or B16a2 and Put in Civic with a nice Milano Red Respray and Lightweight 15" rims

Overall Prelude is nicer more confortable more luxurious and stylish
But Civic is just a Civic nothing else to say haha they are a classic

fark $7,000 for a prelude,
h22 has more torque is a unique build, not everyone has a h22 in an eg.
but depends on you, theres egs with b series all over the market,

b series engine will be less of a headache to put

http://www.antiguastreetz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1754

google around.

sell both and buy a eg with a b18c already in it registered save yourself the hassle

yeah good idea but the civic is Clean and straight no rust nothing, reason i wanna build is because I will know how its been done and whats been done i can get a engine converted in my car with fabricated mounts for under $1000 so that saves me plus I get cheaper re spray (know the guy)

I reckon put the H22 in the EG, like Simmy said it will be more unique. I was thinking about doing this a couple of years ago.

H22 bit bigger Harder to convert weighs more but has alot of potentional and better torque, but then again I can sell prelude and buy a h22 for round 2000 make better money haha but a B series would sould it better, thats why I need you guys to convince me

the h22 doesnt weigh that much then the b series champ... yes the h22 has more torque... but labour wise its gonna cost you..

you cant just say " convince me guys to use h series " we might aswell say dont use both go with k series... if you got the budget and you wanna do something different then do H series or if you have more money laying around then go h2b the best of both engine series.

Curtis people were arguing me about $8000 for it so im putting $7000 as a safe number, have you seen people put stock stanard preludes for over $8000, I got a whole engine re-build, new black re spray, low ks, 12 months rego and a RWC plus straight body and lots of extras like full sound system and service history

be different, fwd rotary.

No but seriously, keep your lude?
I'd sell the lude and buy an h22a, and build it up for that 5k... otherwise you're going to have a prelude shell sitting around, not doing anything. and a rolling shell will lose you a lot of money... you can sell the car for 7k, the shell for probably 4 maybe, and the engine for 2? so without the engine, if you even get 4k, you'd still be behind... just sell the car off, get another engine, build it up or just drop it in for that 5k...

Unless of course you want to derp around and put the d15 into the lude for lulz.

but yeah, do the swap, but try and find an engine for sale, sell the car, buy engine?

that sounds good curtis pretty tough, i got 205/55/15 tyres, if i get wider tyres like 215s and want to have em poked out of the guard a little bit do i need longer studs? and yeah selling the car is a better option but I got told at a High perfomance place that The lude with the h22a has more potentional in that shell rather than the eg haha, a prelude is much nicer to drive than a civic i think personaly but the weight of the shell is keeping the engines full potentiol plus it feels slow on a heavy car thats why i wanted to do a swap, but my other option is keep both cars and fix up a D16y8 engine I got lying around at home and turbo it for my civic, sure it doesnt have that much power but build it right with the right mods and tuning and it will be good for a budget limit

crash your prelude. then you will have a reason to remove the engine and put it in another car.

lol but seriously, i hate ruining a good thing. such a well looked after car (as you described) does not deserve to be pulled apart.

do you not have intellect to decide things for yourself?

do you not have intellect to decide things for yourself?Do you never, ever ask people who may or may not be more knowledgeable than yourself for advice?

And if you do, do they simply ignore you because you're an insufferable prick?

yeah the prelude is in very good condition with no leaks no rust straight body always serviced its just so perfect and clean for its age. and ericl33 i like to ask for other peoples opinions because maybe other people have done the swaps im thinking of and they could share what they think of it? got a problem just dont bother looking at this forum then, not like im breaking the law or doing anything bad :)

I ask people for advice.

I don't ask what i should do.

because what one does in life is what makes one an individual.

I still think d15b7 lude....

but seriously, I'd do one of the following:
-Build the b16a you have in your posession... why leave a good engine to rot? Keep the lude, and do some subtle mods to it, to get it to have a little more balls, while remaining practical.
-Sell lude, buy h22a motor, insert in civic, retrim everything, so it feels luxury, and roll semi luxury like that
-Keep lude, give civic shell to me (with or without engine.. I have one for use here), I keep it, use it as a daily, take my first gen off the road, and save up for that t1 motor and running gear + parts... :D

I figured out what i will most likely do
*keep the Prelude and make it look JDM nice and simple and very very clean plus work on motor slighty for a few extra KW
*Re-build my D16Y8 motor with a Turbo running on 12 PSI on a sleeved blocked :)
thanks for the ideas guys

just melt money and make your exhaust valves out of melted down $100 bills... would be the best valves ever...

No but seriously, that sounds like a good plan. you get to keep the ride and comfort of the 'lude that you like, and put something in the civic, that will be pretty awesome :D
