A little disappointed that the 2012 CU2 pings when using the loud pedal. I use only 98RON premium unleaded and pings at certain load.
I was up the Old road yesterday running in the motor. I was giving the auto box and motor a good workout and notice that the engine pings at certain load at the upper end of the rev range.
Any ideas why??

Just go straight back to the dealer.

it sounds like marbles in a can, at 5k-6k at full throttle. At what revs does the v-tec kick in?
Looks like they still hvent solved the issue, ongoing since the release of the first model.
But I would recommend trying a different fuel to see if that helps.

Bigben, sorry to hear the ping issue.. Its really sad to see honda still hasn't fixed the ping issue yet. What ROn98 fuel are you using? I got 2010jan built My10 standard euro in auto, i use BP 98 and never heard the ping sound yet so far.
Back to the dealer and i heard some fuel such as BP98 mask the ping issue...

hmm I might try a different batch of fuel, the pinging is only occurs when you drive spiritedly at 80% - 100% of the throttle.

I filled the car with a full tank of Shell Optimax, so I'll run it to the minimum and try BP next time I fill up see how it goes.
