I bought Fram cabin air filter CF10134 for CU2 from Amazon. I just had a chance to change them today, I just wondering, does it make any difference if the air flow arrow on the side of the cover instead facing the front cover. I took out the original from Honda and airflow arrow facing the front cover. Thank you in advance.

Here some of the photos:

I changed mine once at 5000km, because there was a moist smell getting in my car. Only just ordered a carbon one, been 4 years, although I've checked and it seems pretty clean still but meh.

iirc, the edges of the filter somehow 'clips' or is wedged into a slot. I think this makes it more airtight...so the air is less able to flow around (vs. through) the filter.

I have a motto lol:

If it doesn't fit: tape/glue/hammer

It doesn't matter which side the air flow arrow is on, as long as the arrow is pointing in the same direction as the original filter.

I hate these forums. They make me spend money. First Redline D4, then Redline motor oil, now Fram cabin filter...

Ps: still cheaper that what the Honda dealer would've charged you.

While it won't cause the earth to stop spinning, there is a preferred orientation of the filter element. I would recommend following the instructions that came with the Fram filter.

Lolz, my FRAM replacement just arrived today. Took out the old one, and I'm not sure if it was a carbon one to begin with or not... anyone know if the CL9 came with carbon filters as stock (mines post facelift if it makes any difference). Either way, it's that dirty, that even the new carbon one looks cleaner, although not as bad as Fredroops. Lolz, Maclovin, you're is basically clean.

On a side note: Review of FRAM's cabin Filter. Compare to OEM, it's clearly a cheaper product. I mean yes, the FRAM is carbon/odor filtered, but the OEM one had plastic clips, 3 rows no less, running through the mid to help it retain shape and even gaps. It also has about 30-50% more grooves, so there's more paper for your money (although it cost more too), although I'm not sure how that'ld affect the airflow, not that your A/C system can move enough air to make any difference.

The more surface area there is in the filter, assuming that the paper thickness and porosity are similar, you will get more air flow at the same fan setting. Basically the more surface area, the less resistance to flow given everything else is kept constant.
