CAI for performance as it sucks the outside air, meaning outside air temp, and not engine air, and if set up properly u can setup a air intake ram system for ultimate CAI, and improves better overall power/torque in the power band

A tuned intake is important. CAI I mean. The others are irrelevant as they suck in hot air.

cai utilises both the ram effect and cold air

SHORT ram intakes in general are intakes which follow a shorter path than your stock in effort to ram air into the intake manifold, and if not correctly boxed off from engine bay heat you will suffer heat soak and actually loose peformance.

COLD air intakes are intakes designed to suck air from a location which is not contaminated by engine heat, you stock air box is essentially a COLD air intake but the main focus of aftermarket cold air intakes is for the filter to be located in an isolated location away from engine bay heat but for the intake path to be more direct and less windy and restrictive VS the stock intake.

WHALE PENIS intake is essentially a SHORT ram intake shaped like a whale's fat penis, box it off from engine bay heat and you will have a SHORT RAM sucking in COLD air best of both worlds which is what GruppeM achieved with theirs

but when you consider the air temp in this equation, CAI (getting air from front bumper) would be advantage.

I've had Cai great sounding but f**k had to be so careful in the wet, best intake are the comptech icebox's which can be DIYed there is one on here I think. Iv got the shift performance intake isn't as loud as Cai but much better in the way of maintenance and water.
