yo, just did a swap from an 18a to C. went hydro and used a p28 obd1 ecu with harness. The engine originally is an obd2. My da is obd0. Swap is done but engine light is still on. IS THIS TYPICAL OF ENGINE SWAPS SINCE THE ENGINE WAS obd2, the car is obd0 and the ecu is obd1 with all the wiring and shit?
the code was a misfire @ cylinder 1 however my mechanic says that it doesnt misfire or sounds like it.
i want my CEL off!

Fun. do you know if the VSS in the gear box is electric or cable?
If electric, check this out to find which wire you need to check.

If you are cable, the VSS pulse is created in your cluster, and feeds back to the ECU via a cable.
Either that is broken/missing/Cluster doesn't generate the pulse for the ECU

if you have 1 long flash then 7 short, if so then that is code 17
if you have 7 short pause 1 second 1 long pause 1 sec then 7 short and so on, you have codes 7 and codes 1
but is does sound like code 17 VSS.
as above wire the VSS from the cluster to the ECU and you will be fine.
