Just curious - how long is everyone planning to keep their Euros for?

It seems like some people have owned theirs since they first came out in 03 and are still happy with it!

Got mine in 08. Gonna keep it another 10 years+, unless it starts giving me trouble. After all, my next car most likely won't be a sedan, prob coupe or SUV, pref the former though....

Me too!!

I dont get the fad with FT/GT86.... IMO it isnt pretty, isnt that fast, and I personally dont see it being anymore enjoyable that a Miata to drive.

I know it should be a turning power house but as turbo goes looks like 12psi is the max without having to tear the engine apart http://www.examiner.com/article/performance-modifications-for-2013-scion-fr-s-and-subaru-brz

there were 4x 86's on the N-ring 24 hr endurance race a few days ago (like 2 days ago), they arent that fast, but good pit action did see then win the V3 class.

The CU2 under steers and torque steers when pushed and if people are buying the car thinking that you are buying a sports sedan then you haven't driven anything else.

For me its a company rep car and does the job of a daily driver and lung stuff around. Full stop. My choice was either an Accord Euro or a Toyota Camry Hybrid. We got a killer deal from Honda as the company purchased 12 x Accord Euro and Accord V6. I wish I was higher up in the food chain so I will get the V6.

My Euro auto with leather interior and 5 year warranty we got it for WAY below $30k each.

Trying to get rid of mine now.. only had it for 7 months. Hate having an auto its slow as anything and the fuel consumption is terrible! Its completely stock standard low k's, full honda service history.. and I get less then 400k's out a tank babying it on BP 98 octane! My manual 2006 CL9 Lux was unfortunately written off but there was noticibally more power in the manual and far better fuel consumption. Wanting to update to a CU2 lux Manual!

I've had my 2005 CL9 for roughly 6 months now, loved driving the car when it was a manual. A few months ago I put in a very low km engine and automatic gearbox in the car. Drives very smoothly and is quite nice as a daily, but the auto box is quite slow and a lot worse on fuel than the manual. I'll probably try and sell it in the next few weeks and hopefully replace it with an R.

With my Euro, whether its on V-Power, BP Ultimate, Caltex 98, or United 100, I usually get 500km.

EDIT: The car is completely stock, runs an 06 K24A3 Auto with 43XXXkm.

Like my CL9. When I feel down, I get out of my commodore (free car) and get into the CL9. No need to brake for corners and love the bitey brakes. Power is about the same as the commo but the sound is so much nicer.

That means that retail buyers heavily subsidise company car purchases. So not only do companies get car related tax deductions courtesy of the taxpayer but they also score big discounts on car purchases.

Yeah i went and test drove a brand new CU2 manual the other day and was a bit dissapointed.. I'm still just keen to get back into a manual.. I have no idea why i got the auto.. was sucked in by the NAV which i've used about 5 times in total.

Fuel light came on in my current tank at 375km

What are your average fuel consumption figures on the car's trip computer? And what about the actual calculated average fuel consumption?

Something is definitely wrong there. I have a stock 07 auto and I get at least 500kms before the light comes on, no matter how I drive.

We purchase 12 cars in one hit (close to $400,000 worth of sales in a couple of hours of negotiation) what's wrong with giving us a large discount. The sales rep can either accept or decline our offer.

It's always around the 14's on the trip computer. lowest it ever gets down to is in the 12's on the highway.

It has the consumption of a 6 cylinder and its a 4.. i know what i'd rather!!

That is definately not normal. I have a MY12 Auto & last time i filled up was 23rd of december & have not left the suburbs of Hervey bay in that time. Trip cpmputer is indicating 8.3 with no trip in excess of 7km - that is the worst driving conditions available for fuel consumption.

i live in sydney inner city suburbs and yes 14l/100km is certainly possible during peak hour times. i dont think traffic at hervey bay at its worst is near as bad as sydney peak hour traffic. can sometimes take an hour for a 10km trip into the city @ peak.

I get about 9-10litres / 100km in bumper to bumper evening traffic from Sydney CBD to St Ives. I did burn 16 litres / 100km at the Nasho with some liberal use of the loud pedal!!

BTW - the trip counter is not that accurate, hell the speedo is not accurate. The GPS indicates that I am travelling 110km/h and the dial will show slightly above the 115km/h

Bought my first black Euro in June 03, the very first week the model was first released in Australia. Had done just over 81000 km. Although not supposed to, the front seats always had sheepskin cover over them. No kids so back seat hardly ever get used. It was in immaculate condition. Even the dealers admitted the car was outstanding, but I decided to sell it to my parent instead.

hell the speedo is not accurate. The GPS indicates that I am traveling 110km/h and the dial will show slightly above the 115km/h
I believe that is true about most cars. I've driven different cars and different brands, and I've noticed that issue with all of them. Where the speedo is always ~5km more than the GPS reading. It is either GPS reading is inaccurate or the speedo is.
I've even driven ones which use digital speedos, and the issue still happens with a 5km discrepancy.

Just google this issue, and you will see that laws don't state that the car speedo has to be accurate. It just cannot show speeds slower than actual, and can maximum show speeds above which are 4km + 10% of actual speed. I think this is specified on the ADR Rules.

Which isn't a bad idea having it not accurate like that. Since it will prevent you from getting a ticket. Since I think the rules state that you can drive 5% over the speed limit without getting fined. Which at lower speeds this isn't much, therefore with the inaccuracies of the speedo, it actually helps you.
