cant say there is any noticeable difference between the two.

what differences are you getting out of V-power/Ultimate

the euro got more kms per tank with bp 98 and vortex 98, fuel consumption was terrible with shell v-power :\

V-power sucks straight up! never touching that stuff again, used it on my car an few others, and can vouch it makes the car less fuel economical and doesnt run as smooth as BP98

Its either i use bp98 or i go find it hahahaha, worse case i resort to other 98 petrol, but not shell

I have yet to try caltex 98, but bp98 is quite nice :D
$20 lasts about as long as $20 in 91.. funnily enough

i believe this is a state of mind thing.

with my Civic EG VTi. stock D16Y1 with pod and full exhaust.
Comparing BP Ultimate and Shell V-Power these no real power difference.
To me both response is good. But I do get more KMs with BP.

plus i only use BP Ultimate now as car was tuned with BP Ultimate and its only around the corner from my where i live.

BP98 is the best man.. dont bother with caltex at all, my car runs noticably shitter on caltex. wont go near that crap!

i remember reading an article on vpower a while back.. apparantly theres an additive which shell uses that gets your car "addicted" to their fuel! i know, sounds stupid but i can definately see the difference between the two. i might be paranoid though haha

i trust mobil aswell, seems to give me similar performance to bp, but bp still gets me more ks out of a tank.

i went through a faze with my old car where i was really fussy with fuel. i literally used each brand of fuel for a few tanks (daily driving with the occasional vtecing) to see which gets me the best mileage and performance.

in my experience,
1. BP98 got me the best mileage and performance
2. mobil 98 had decent performance but mileage wasnt as good as BP
3. united 100, i dont believe its actually 100%, probably alot of other shit added, but performs quite well. would choose it over shell or caltex 98 anyday! mileage is average though.
4. shell vpower, average mileage, mehh performance.. similar to bp but car seems less responsive..
5. caltex 98 just rubbish. especially the safeway shit! dont even go near it..

obviously personal experience will differ depending on car, mods, tune etc, but that was my own experience.

hopefully tht helps..

I usually fill v-power, imo they both feel similar... considering their both 98 octane..

though i do agree that bp sometimes give me better km's

Yeah my dad's 05 Hilux kept stalling at idle and we found out it was the petrol causing it.!

Never tried caltex. Not many around here.
Im yet to find if BP gives better k's
From the positive comments, look like im gonna stay with BP

At least Shell weren't responsible for the most horrendous oil spill in recent history.

Bp gets me more km per tank.... 20-30 roughly... seem to run the same though.

This thread makes no sense.
You think with all their billions of dollars, an oil company would accept having an interior product? No way.
And if you can 'feel' the difference between fuels, you're either a wizard or you're delusional.

You can have a 'favorite' but it doesn't mean it's better than the others, don't let one bad (Let's say they accidently had a poor batch of fuel one time) experience taint your opinion.

I'll be honest, I usually vary between caltex 91 and 95 for cleaning and whatever... I sometimes go bp98 when I'm feeling the go... The car seems to not want to do anything when it's cold on bp98 mind you...

I use BP, I get slightly better than mileage than Shell.

Is it better? It's hard to tell. BP isn't subsidized by shopper dockets like Shell so BP is more expensive.

I used to sometimes use Mobil 98 octane, but it seems all of the Mobils have disappeared in my area

BP98 gives me more mileage... when i was using it,
i felt vortex98 gave me a little better response, but mileage was a little less than bp98
shell - dont touch it anymore

i pour 100 premium from United, i know its got a 10% ethenol blend, but the responses i feel is better than both bp98 and vortex

well thats just me... others?? no idea what they think!

Mobil's servo's were bought by 7/11 mostly.. And some also by BP.
So you won't be seeing any Mobil's around anymore =P

Most of our bp's down here are owned by woolies/ safeway... Dockets for cheaper petrol :D Downside, the ones on the side of woolies don't have 98 >.> unless you can take the voucher to any bp?
As for mobil, we have none down here as far as I'm aware of... well, in launnie anyway. there is a united somewhere on the outskirts. other than that, just lots of bp, caltex and like two shell ones.
