I've seen a few DB8 around never seen a DB8R though....assuming they are all import ?

Unfortunately you can't import DB8R unless you own the car more than a year while oversea or for racing purpose only. Same thing with EK9.

Anyone know if this is still the case with both the DB8R and EK9. Can remember reading something about them being 15 years old now and able to be imported.

If you don't bring it in through personal import (owning the car overseas for at least a year), it's either got to be:
a) on the Register of Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles (http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/sevsindex.htm) or
b) manufactured before 1 January 1989 http://www.raws.com.au/ImportSchemes.asp

Have a look at the second link, the 15 year rule was amended in 2005.

We never got the EP chassis... only the EU.

We did get the EK chassis, so no EK9

yep theyd have to be a yellow plate personal import. I dont think the DC chassis integras with 4 doors were aus delivered
