First post...Just had reverse sensors installed to a standard 2012 Euro.Problem is they drilled 5 holes in the bumper for a 4 sensor system. How off my nut should I have gone and any suggestions to fix. They have offered to install another sensor but that could just be a dummy sensor. They also offered to have bumper repaired but a repair on a car a week old is a bit much for me to accept when I did not cause the damage.Have been giving some thought to a camera as the extra hole is in the centre of the bumper.Shattered.

Get them to pay for the camera! A happy customer is a good customer :)

I say swap the bumper and do it properly! Its hardly a 'repair' given they just have to undo a few nuts and bolts to swap over. They should have to pay for everything and I would make sure they use all new bolts etc so you cold never know that it wasn't the original.

A camera could be useful, but a dummy sensor will look fine, surely?

If by 'repair the bumper' they mean that they'll patch the hole up, they can get ****ed. If they mean that they'll replace the bumper, sure, but I doubt they'd do that.

cant you get a 5th sensor to actually work? Maybe try to get a 5 sensor system or just go with a dummy or camera.

I just can't accept a dummy sensor because the day will come when I reverse into something just where that non sensor is located.Yes by repair they meant "patch the hole up".

so its not possible to add a 5th sensor or to get them to fit a 5 sensor system

Would be happy to accept 5th sensor as long as it works. We all stuff up sometimes,I get that and the bloke who did the work could not believe his mistake.

Yeah, get them to fit a 5 sensor system for the price of the 4 sensor. If you use a 4-sensor system, there is a blind spot where the extra hole is located. So even if you spaced the 4 sensors properly on each side, you would be lacking the sensor that is meant to be in the dead centre.

A dead sensor in the dead centre equals dead... family pets and small children?

Camera can be useful I suppose but I don't normally use any of these devices and reverse sensors just annoy the hell out of me because they go nuts at you when you're like 30cm away from something.

IMO get a 5th sensor or get it repaired. At no cost to you.

A week has gone since the install and still no result.Dept of Commerce (consumer protection) has advised me what steps I need to take so just starting to go through those motions now. This type of workshop error is called Consequential damage.Waiting on a quote for repair to bumper, should have that tomorrow and a new bumper supplied, painted should be about $1500.I am still happy to accept reverse camera as it is at the correct height and they cost no more than $500 tops.Still can't see the drama as I am prepared to accept the cheapest option. They may just be waiting for me to let it go but that ain't going to happen.

$1500?

it should only cost $700 or so to replace the bumper...

I don't know about you, but i can't fit my flesh in a hole of that size

curtis265 you are right a replacement bumper from Honda is $737,unpainted.The paint work is on top and will cost close to the bumper price.Honda spare parts told me to double for an approximate supplied and painted price =$1474

Ohhh bugger. IIRC when I got gently rear ended in the civic, it didn't cost that much... but i suppose accord parts cost more!

Hope it all sorts out well!

I wish you lick.

I got an email today offering to install reverse camera at a cost to me for the discounted low low price of $500, of course I knocked back the offer and have no choice but take the matter further. What happened to making a mistake and fixing what you stuffed up.Trust nobody..

I don't know about you, but i can't fit my flesh in a hole of that sizeMe neither, to be honest... I normally just hang my dick out the side of my car, then slam the door repeatedly, crushing it within the door jamb.

take the camera option and make them do it at no cost

just keep complaining - calling up, emails, letters etc

they will get sick of you and just do it

but yeah dont take it to them to service cos they will probably piss in your petrol tank lol

Yeah, i'd never take my car (new) back to that dealer ever again
If you do... Get a HD camera and film every nook and cranny before you let em service it

btw... What Perth Dealer did you go to Honda North?
