ok, so for the past few months my integra's fuel pumps has been intermittently not priming, the other night when i really needed the car was the final straw!

so tonight i decided to hook up a switch to the pump because i couldnt work out why it wasnt priming.

so, i have fuel ( checked the fuel rail, ( fuel pissed out errywhere! ) fuel pump is priming!

and i have spark. ( screwdriver in end of lead, close to earth.. )

and the car wont start at all.

the car doesnt have an alarm, recently removed.

UPDATE! so i swapped over to the factory ecu ( current one is a hondata) and bam fuel pump primes.... and the car starts... i dare not drive the car on the factory ecu ( boosted engine ) i just dont understand. usually things like that arnt a slow break down. usually an electrical component " from my understanding" in an ecu simply just fails... :(

the only thing i havnt really checked is for an injector pulse.

but i just cant understand why that would suddenly happen.

also just changed fuel pump relay to a known working one... still not working,

also tested earth strap on thermostat housing

also tested main earth strap on gearbox to chassis

you can always just test earth via the chassis instead of ground.
a faulty fuel pump can cause a relay to fault,
a faulty relay can failt the fuel pump.

you also mentioned "ok, so for the past few months my integra's fuel pumps has been intermittently not priming", if the pump fails to prime at times have you tried getting a 2nd hand one from a wreck etc and testing it?

have you checked all your earthing points, motor to chassis, battery to chassis etc?

did you do any sort of timing related work on your car lately?

tried all that, the fuel pump is a new walbro... but yes, i swapped for factory, checked the loom for power nothing.. had earth but no power....

pretty sure the ecu is dead... not sure how or why. but i just put in the factory ecu and the pump primed... and the car started. :(

where did u get the hondata from? maybe contact the seller or something?
**** i would be angry if that was my hondata

I bought it off another member about 2 years ago.

I opened the ecu up and it doesnt "seem" to have any burn marks.

I've contacted Hondata, and asked them about it. Hopefully they can shed some light to what's going on :(

Sad day is sad.... Seems to be one thing after another lately :(

What voltage should the fuel pump be running?

Fake walbro pumps are also out there.!
Use amp meter and check amp draw. Could be drawing from ecu

Yeah but the way I look at it, everything like that is fine because when I put in standard ecu everything works perfectly

Problem is the ecu, if hondata s200 is blinking means you have problem
It should be solid.

ok so i pulled the blue box apart, gave it a wipe down,

and then i pulled ecu apart and did the same.

put ecu back in. car now drives. and everything is fine.

measure twice cut once,

the way you look at it measure once cut twice

well, last night i did everything, i took dash completely out and rewired everything from ecu all the way to fuel pump.

so last night i did a shit tonne of cutting, and measuring.

there were reminants of about 3 different alarms.

so i just rewired everything...

i think the problem still exists.

after taking it for a long drive ( car drove fine the whole time ) got it back home and the fuel pump took about 10 seconds to prime, then it would be instant, then it might take 30 sometimes even 45 seconds to prime. but once it does its fine

at that time the CEL goes off and the hondata box stops blinking and the car starts fine.

i want to solder the ribbon wires to the blue box. as i did find a dodgy BLACK wire... after removing the clip ( which i did properly no force pushed tab and slid out ) the black wire simply fell out.... so that could be a problem. ill play with it more tomorrow.

but thats another update for tonight :)

i think better solution in solving the problem by isolating individual components rather then pulling dash apart and re wiring everything my 2 cents worth

ahhh so looks like ecu is fine but wiring on connector plugs might be loose.

well how else am i suppose to diagnose anything, what else is there to isolate?

i swapped the fuel pump relay?

i swapped the main fuse

i tested everything from the fuel pump backwards?

i found a problem. the wiring. it was shocking, so i rewired it.

i checked all the connectors on the ecu and they all seem to be fine.

what else do you suggest i check sammy?

cause i really dont want to send the ecu away if its something stupid and little LOL!
