Anyone tried this oil? I went to the local dealer for a 10k km service and they had this as one of the options. Apparently it's a fully synthetic oil that's recommended for the S2000 and more powerful Civics and Accords (http://jaytec-lubricants.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7_148&products_id=275). The China version is manufactured locally under license by a Shinihon Sekiyou (Nippon Oil) joint venture.

Thought I'd give it a try and so far, it seems to be quieter than the previous semi-synth stuff they had in the engine. VTEC engagement doesn't sound as raucous as before but power seems unchanged. I haven't run the car much after the service to see any changes in fuel consumption either.

How's this stuff compare against the top Mobil 1, Castrol and Redline stuff?

We dont have that here, we got Honda FEO ultra 5w-30, likely made by caltex.
I'd hazard to guess that's a group3 synthetic.

Your redline should still be a higher grade Of oil. IMO

Cat tell about mobil and castrol, cause the Chinese formula may differ

the oil tins look pretty cool compared to the plastic bottles we commonly get here. having seen an antique shop full of those cans, i thought tin cans for motor oil as all but extinct.

Other japanese companies also still use metal tins
