Fixing up an EK hatch

Hi guys

I have a friend selling a 1996 civic cxi hatch (rolling shell) and need advice on whether to buy it and fix it up or not
It's missing the engine, gear box and a few other little things

The price is reasonable I guess for it still is in descent condition.

I was thinking of throwing in a k series into it with a dc2r or dc5r gear box
and/or make it into a nice daily/track car

I'm not very experienced with stuff like this so if someone that has done something like this before could help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

If you're going to do an engine swap,

B16 around 3-4
B18c/7series will set you back at least 5k
Kdwap will be at least 8-10k

This is considering all the labour is done by yourself.

parts will add up, for a cxi EK, I recommend just making it a nice daily and not going with the kdwap, since it doesn't have rear brakes, sway bars and power options unless youre planning to upgrade brakes

I'd say 10k is my budget, I don't want to be spending too much on a civic

then id say get a b18c7 and some suspension mod. should have some spare money left

yes b18c7 will be a lot of fun and you will have money to spare on suspension, brakes and aesthetics.

seen some pretty well priced b18c7 swap packages around lately too. do it!

if you got money, do h2b or something. something different instead of b series or k series :)
