any mod to your car is a risk of a defect

any mods to your car is illegal/defectable.
although an exposed pod filter is more appealing to a cops eye than a gruppe m

technically the Gruppe M is not illegal, cause it is still considered a enclosed airbox, RTA wont defect it either, however the Scoop that sits outside may be an issue, because they can say that "it can be detached, fly off and slice someone" but overall thats like really rear for the po po to pick out in the dark or day light

I think is at the discrepancy of the individual officer. Visually along as the pod is enclosed its ok, however having a modified intake causes excessive noise pollution. But if they really want to get you they will... Side note had a e92 M3 come in today with a carbon fibre gruppe m intake, not relevant just felt like sharing lol.

Should be fine because its still technically an enclosed airbox.

Technicality rarely saves you against defects....... They can defect you for an empty windscreen washer bottle if they wanted to.

Or yank you battery untill it's loose and defect you for loose battery mount

Or shoot your tyre and say you have a flat tyre

yeahh i only asked because i was pulled over by an unmarked police car for RBT, and one of the officer was flashing his flashlight around my car and checking it

he didnt give me any trouble tho, both we very nice

told a friend and he said lucky he didnt defect you on the gruppe M because he said it was illegal because he see's it as an open airbox because of the scoop

Reviving an old thread.

Well tell your friend to not drive his mum's, dad's, cousin's, aunty's, uncles' car or pretty much all cars because all stock factory airboxes have an opening to let air in.
