Okay so i bought my euro about 6 to 8 months ago...cars been great and i love it to bits...only im having afew issues with the gearbox...and im not really sure if it's my box or cl9 auto's in general.

When im going about 60km's...it wants to be in 5th, then 4th, then 5th. The problem is, if im even slightly on the trottle, trying to hold an even 60km, i get an awful shuddering sensation, sometimes even a grinding noise until i give the throttle a good hit.

Its like im confusing the gearbox by being on the throttle, but not on it enough. The gearbox seems really undecided about which gear it should be in. Does anybody else have these problems? or is it just me?

(i might also mention it seems to happen most prominantly on slight uphill roads)

Change the fluids. Do a 3x3 flush.

common problem with euros, flushing the fluids should ease the problem, i change my fluids every 10,000k's and mine doesnt make that sound anymore

changing transmission oils every 10k kms isnt that over the top? on the legend, the logbook recommended something like 24mths/80k kms for the ATF

If you follow the log book on ATF changes, your gearbox will shit itself. Has been like this since the CD4 days in 1994. I change any ATF every 20,000km.

Define "Make sure they do it"

If you casually tell the mechanic "change auto tranny fluid" they'd do a 1 drain 1 fill

you need to do that 3 times

as in: drain/fill - drive for 10 minutes (use all gears) - drain fill - drive for 10 minutes (use all gears) - drain fill
and it uses about $150 + worth of fluids + labour.

looks like i better get a move on for my legend then. i doubt it was changed very often

My vehicle had this issue and I followed the advice given here, it was only a few months ago. The vehicle is now a pleasure to drive. You have to specify the issue to your Honda or auto trany service centre or as said previously you may only simply get a one change.

Personally, I change ATF every 20,000km or 12 months. Currently my MY12 has 4,050km after 8 months, but I will still change the ATF yearly.
