Before i continue i made this tread as i dont want a HID Kit as my car (non honda) has a wierd wiring system for light and will consider HIDs if there is not suitable products.

Anyway looking for white/blue bulbs
Does anyone know if there are replacement bulbs that are either 6000k or 8000k in colour?

Ive used 4300k in the past but looking for more bluey ones
if anyone knows if they exist or a particular place i could get them from thanks

Tried google but all the results were HID only

hmm yea did just a find a few other forums overseas and that seems to be the problem with halogen lights with high temp colours, its hard to see, might go check out on other forums how the wiring in my car works (bmw e36 and i only have 1 wire going to my headlight bulb - not 2 so not sure how to do positive n neg)

I got 6000k HID's and they aren't too bad if you're looking for that bluey colour.
I picked up mine from ebay for $28 (from china) and they were just plug and play and they work good and provide way more light that stock halogen ones i had on.
So reconsider HID's.
or go for lower temperature which still have a blue tint to them and provide a lot more light than the 6000k

Any blue in the headlight is not good, reconsider 4300K colour bulbs.

I had raybrig 4300K halogen H4s, they were excellent for a halogen

As curtis said, anything more blue than white will be terrible for wet weather vision

just figure out what kinda bulb it is, any PnP kit should do the trick

if it's only got one wire then the grounding must be through the chasssis

dude the lower temp you go the yellower the colour

5000k is considered a "pure" white colour

the blue tinge youre talking about is the colour thats generated because of the cut-off from the projector

plus the reason why your HIDs are more blue is because youve gone for cheap ebay globes

i ordered phillips 6000k from a licensed dealer and it cost me $600, but ive never seen a whiter light ever

what you pay is what you get

sorry, what I meant was I have 8000k hid's and you should consider 6000k which have a light tint to them.

you have the worst HID glare I have ever seen and I hope cops rape you for it.

and it's not a tint, it's a tinge

I've been behind my own car and I've also been behind cops with them on. Cops haven't done shit and I haven't been blinded by glare yet.

umad?

if a car uses halogen lights it should never be converted to a HID

and again, ebay jobs = fail

lol isnt that majority of ozhonda???
running hid kits on headlights designed to run halogens (maybe only in sydney)

anway ended up going with hid kits
arent too bright (though yes is def brighter than halogen)
only took me 30 mins to install (of that 15 mins to drill out the headlight weather protecters)

The light beams are so nicely straight - thanks to the projectors HIDs?

Halogen normal headlights will have alot of glare and is not advisable to convert to HID.

there are reflector housings out there that are designed for HIDs

they are mainly seen on more expensive cars such as beamers and mercs

from memory they are D2R globes (correct me if im wrong)

however these are extremely rare in aftermarket parts (not to mention finding one for a honda lol)

so long as your car comes with halogen projector lights you can get away with HID conversion kits

having said that its still not the same as the actual car coming with HIDs, due to things such as auto leveling and auto focusing lights etc

D2R bulbs are for reflector systems and D2S bulbs are for shielded systems

Car example: Nissan G35

from my knowledge HID reflector housings reflect the light upwards whereas halogen reflector housing reflects the light out everywhere, which is why you get heaps of glare once you install a HID conversion kit

Funny enough, just got back from shopping. Was getting blinded by a car coming toward me with hid headlight and fog light...

once it goes past, sure enough it was fd civic,I rest my case

curtis265

accually the civic FD has 4300k HID's in japan.

i think it's the blueyness from 6000k that can't be controlled properly

don't they have projectors?

I had dem d2s bulbs in a civic FD too, didn't' really cut it. especially given that the civic FD's are sort of designed for HIDs

oops my bad, meant the infiniti g35

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v444/X-Vert/180/gen1%20sedan/sedangen1.jpg

depends on what model though, later versions had projectors

i recall reading once that the maximum legal temp for a HID that car manufacturers can release with their cars is 4500k (i could be wrong here though)

at the end of the day anything over 4500k on reflector housings looks too blue as you said, i doubt youll get the same crisp white from my globes if you put them in a reflector housing

holden caprice's and statemens are just as bad

cheaply put together cars

youll never get a sh*t cutoff like that from a new merc or beamer haha

Chrysler 300C's are the worse, i dunno what regulations they're following!

Some stock Euros aren't the best either, they produce quite a bit of glare.
