Hey guys,

Last night ive been wiring up my stereo and yay it worked.

UNTIL...

I pulled the plug out of the HU intending to feed my wires more neatly, while doing that my hand did make quite a big movement as i was took the plug out. When i plugged it back in... it didn't work anymore.

not only that, the central locking, alarm, and automatic interior lights (they turn on if i turn them on manually), plus windows have stopped working...

Ive checked the fuses at my footwell, they seemed fine onless i missed one.. Which fuse should i be checking? or maybe its not a fuse?

Please help me out guys any input appreciated.

Thanks
Simon

simonhaha

so what dosent work is...

-automatic lights when opening doors
-alarm
-keyless entry
-no power windows when car turns off (usually have power after 10 seconds turning the car off )

Unhook your battery. Then check all your fuses to confirm everything is OK. Using a multimeter to test continuity is much more accurate as sometimes during a visual inspection the fuse may appear to look fine. Replace any broken fuses. Hook your battery back up after 15-30 minutes (resetting the cars computer). See if the car is back to normal then report back here.

Thanks Androo,

I will do exactly that, will let guys know what happened. Would you think there are any fuses under the bonnet would be a potential problem to what im experencing?

thanks

just found another thing, my headlights wont work uneless key is turned on. usually it stays on when car is on while making a beepjng noise to indicate that its on. ive looked through all my fuses, visually they all look fine...

whats my next step now? could it be because i havent got the plugs.all plugged in from insode when i ripped most the interior apart?

I pulled the plug out of the HU intending to feed my wires more neatly, while doing that my hand did make quite a big movement as i was took the plug out. When i plugged it back in... it didn't work anymore.

while doing this..im assuming that you disconnect the battery right?

sorry if im not helping but im just making it sure that its not gonna happen to me...

nope i didnt disconnect the battery, which i should have..

Anyways, i called a mobile auto electrician to come out to have a look at the car, turns out that it was one of the fuses under the bonnet,, not sure which one... Cant believe i missed it. Payed the guy $150 to put a fuse in there.

ANywhhooos the headunit works well, but it get sooo hot at the back of the headunit, burns fingers...
Why could this be?

DOes the civic come with any factory amps or my headunit cant handle the power thats comming through?

fitme

^ no factory amp...btw just check the fuse rating,..did he replaced it with the same amperage?..btw what HU did you use?

simonhaha

im using a basic sony headunit with 3rca outs,

think the fuse should be fine, not sure if its normal.. the HU runs fine and i dont smell any smoke
does anybody know if aftermarket 6.5 speakers will fit in the doors without any spacers? before tearing out my door

how bout the rears, why da hell are they 6.5 too lol, will 6x9s fit there?

fitme

6.5 will fit and you definitely needs a spacer on front and rear....you cannot fit the 6x9 on rears unless you modify the panel cover

cool,

Hey fitme, do you know how to remove the rear seats? I cant find the clips that your supposed to pull under the bottom seat comer, unless there isnt supposed to be one?

I was working on my sound system today, and when i was hooking up my 2 amps speakers and amp, my sub worked and my speakers worked. When i was figuring out why my right speaker wasnt working, i tried to wire it up and suddenly my left speaker wasnt working anymore...

Any ideas?

^ there are 2 clips that you need to pull towards to your front seat to unlock (not upwards)..be careful with this clips because it can easily be damage..btw there is a bolt near the middle seatbelt lock

what amps are you using?..how did you connect the rca from your HU to your amp?

simonhaha

couldnt manage to get the rear seat off by anyways... ive got the amped subs and speakers going, and banging beats.

after 2 whole days of molesting my civic its finally been done!

wired the rcas and power cable under scuff plates and carpet and away from each other.

since my 6x9s dont fit at the back im going to go out to buy some 6.5s for the rears!@!
