hello fellow ozhondian's, i know this topic has been covered many many times but i have an exhaust 2.5" inch system with JDM 2.5" hi flo cat + Spoon N1 muffler, and i'm not sure if i want to keep the Spoon N1.... Just wanting to know what would be a Good header and exhaust combo for street and a little track use....???
1. Toda headers + Spoon N1
2. Toda Headers + Buddyclub Spec II exhaust system

Not sure if srs with option 2. Spec II too loud for street....
Toda are awesome headers or else mugen imo
Both n1 and spec II are hell loud !

You Can't go past the Toda headers. I've a Mugen twin loop on my Dc2r and it's a quality bit of gear with a great note that's aggressive without being overly loud.

Toda headers without doubt would be your best option but yes, budget is a key factor

OP, don't get sucked in to all the hype of name brand and expensive parts, believing they will give you the best results. Is it really worth the extra money you pay on big expensive brands for 2-3kw difference? The money you will save can go towards some good quality coilovers which will make more of a difference since you say you will be tracking.
eg: I payed $500 (1/3 price of TODA) for 4-1 RMF rep header, $750 on a custom exhaust which helped me make 117kw with bolt ons on my EG civic with b18c2 which sounded GREAT, good fitment and quality parts.
The money i saved not buying the TODA header let me spend more on other performance parts....
Dont get me wrong, the TODA header is sexy and makes good power, i just cant justify paying the asking price when you can save up and spend on more mods for more power. Just my opinion :)
oh and BTW, you have an inline motor so it's HEADER not HEADERS.
Buddyclub spec 3. Just put a silencer on for street though its still loud lol.

I'll just post here instead of starting new thread - and i'm sorry if it's covered before!
would i be able to do cat back say 2.5 inch and leave the cat and header till another time (i.e. when i'm not broke lol)
or would i have to do it all in one go when upsizing the diamter of the exhaust.
do you guys recomment getting something branded or exhaust shop to whip something up for me??

I recommend Fujitsubo, 5-Zigen or RS*R for header.
Fujitsubo also does sweet cat-backs, like the Power Getter.

If you get a JDM branded exhaust, you will need to change your cat to either a JDM cat or custom cat.
The header you can leave stock.
If you get a custom exhaust, you won't need to change your cat.

That's correct.
The JDM DC2's had a shorter cat, so their catbacks were longer.
So you need to get a shorter cat to fit any JDM exhaust.

okay thanks! i might aswell just do the whole system from header to muffler becuase originally i thought the rm01a would bolt straight onto stock cat but now i have to change cat so mightswell do it all in one shot

if i were to buy this;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-99-00-01-02-HONDA-ACCORD-V6-2-5-3-0L-CAT-CONVERTER-/320930977364?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab8fa1654&vxp=mtr
which has inlet and outlet of 2.5" it would bolt directly to a 2.5" collector at the header and some sort of welding has to go on between the outlet and b-pipe??
essentially i would want to do header and cat at the same time but leave the old cat back for now..

Any cat converter is fine. Get an exhaust shop to fit it on, welding or attachment of flex pipes may be needed.

That's pretty reasonable, I think I paid close to that for Haks to do mine =)

thats a bullshit price, dont need to go to any exhaust shop if you know what to buy
they will also hack your extractors or hack you exhaust
save you money by buying jdm extractors, jdm itr/ctr cat, and any jdm cat back
all these items are direct bolt on and can be done at home with a few tools
and you wont lose the value of your parts as they are in original condition and not modified by the exhaust shop because its easier for them to do a two bolt flange
toda header + jdm cat, sard, feels, metal lit, wed sport + jdm itr b pipe and spoon n1( or spoon b pipe) OP's choice no 1
all will bolt on with ease and will not need any exhaust shop

Get a Toda Header, SARD Cat and Fujitsubo RM01A catback. I netted 130kw atw with this combo on a B18C.
Mugen Catback - Overrated. IMO, performed a fraction better than ITR catback but I didn't really notice any gains when it was on.

PLM range of B-series headers works a treat for a fraction of the price! Backed up with dyno results

can someone pm me where i can locate new toda header from for a dc2 typer r pleasse :)
Toda, mugen, spoon etc all their headers are great but super overpriced.
If you're strictly after a brand name header only be prepared to pay.
Take a look at this guys headers, they're identical to PLM headers (I swear they've got to be made by the same person)
http://stores.ebay.com.au/Honda-and-Acura-Lab/Race-Headers-/_i.html?_fsub=240445319&_sid=67651219&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
Before anyone laughs at me because it's found on ebay I've used two of this guys headers both the H22A RMF replica and the Hytech replica, welds were of absolute top quality, very lightweight and strong too.
