Have some 5000K Osram 66240CBI. Want some matching ones which are brighter than the standard ones with about the same color temperature, any recommendations what would be good?
I am guessing I am restricted to using Halogens, as i'm pretty sure there is no ballast hooked up to that light.

Max Wattage? I'm guessing 35W.

i am using the philips diamond vision ones in the lux nav 2012 headlights in installed on my 09 cu2.

it sort of depends on what u are using for your hid d2s bulbs whether it is 4300k or 6000k or something else.

easier to get the bulbs from the same brand as you know they will turn out pretty much the same.

the factory ones are 4300k 35w d2s bulbs

i got 6000k 55w d2s morimoto bulbs / 5700k philips t10 led parkers and 5000k philips diamond vision h8 cornering bulbs...

they match up very nicely....the t10 parker led bulbs are something they have a very nice appearance..

Accessing the parking/hid and side lights is through the bottom near the wheels right?

Damn those fogs are bright, are they HID + yellow tint?

Just noticed though, diamond vision isn't approved for road use (not ECE Approved), will it be an issue with insurance? It isn't used as the head lights, just a auxiliary side light (which not all cars have!).
I know some people on the web have had trouble with their insurance agency with non ECE Approved Headlights, since the other company (one at fault) claimed that the other (victim) one had bad lights which caused the accident.

hard to say this is a grey area...to me visibility with the diamond or crystal vision bulbs are better than the standard stock halogen bulb so how can that be bad lights...they cannot prove it...it is most prob used for off road use and not as main headlights...unless you get the brighter philips bulbs which are road legal but they will look yellowish and would not match your hid and t10 bulbs....it is not like mercs / audi / bmw headlights are brighter at stock hid....would you consider that as bad lights as it blinds another driver? very grey area...see what others think bout it.

i would presume so but i had it already put in before the headlights were installed...

the fogs are yellow hid bulbs with yellow tint film...jsut for the jdm look but hardly use it...

It wouldn't be that hard would it?

Car crash - other driver claims visibility issue due to glare/brightness.

Simple solution: Insurance assessors look for ADR number on bulbs in order to bring up issue with manufacturer...wait...this isn't even approved for use here?!? (unless you are in a major crash and they can't find anything - but if they were running non-stock HID's then they'd easily find the ballasts in the carnage...).

Haha go home and switch them out since almost most drivers won't say "pull out your light bulbs so i can write down that info too".....
